I love this place. It's easily one of my favorite places to go in CR, so much nostalgia and fun to be had for both kids and adults. It's a great date location and i love bringing dates here. Do wish that there were more games but I understand why there isn't due to the space. Only suggestion I would have is if you did have more games maybe rotate some of them out occasionally. Like some of the ones by the kitchen that don't get used as often rotate them out for other ones occasionally. Doesn't have to be often, maybe every couple months or so. But I love the food and the beers tend to be ok (I'm not much of a beer drinker myself and prefer sweeter beers and wine) but overall I love it.

Draft beer and cans only, no liquor served there. Around 20 cheap arcade games. Pizza didn't look bad - food options are limited. Friendly staff while we were there. If you have kids or this is your type of place, it might be great.

Time to update the review...from 5 down to 2. I don't know what the criteria are for adding 18% gratuity to a check, but as somebody who generally starts tipping at 20% of the bill pre-tax I was surprised. Truthfully they had earned more than that but just the automatically adding it was a huge turn off. The pickle is this, I don't like being told what to do. It just seemed kind of crass and arbitrary and targeted which is not the vibe that I got from Quarter Barrel previously. Also, with two party cut pizza slices left : BOX IT UP - don't trash it. After I pay for it's mine and gosh darn it I would have eaten it later in the middle of the night. It's a small business. It's locally owned, pizza. Just having the pizza on the menu = 3 stars. Prior to the minor semi-not really-but-almost-rudeness tonight, had my recommendation now I'll just have to contemplate why it is that I'm angry at a video game bar in therapy or something. Food and service was great. The Buffalo chicken dip is amazing! It was cream cheese base instead of the mayo base that one would find at say, Applebee's. And loaded with chicken, Buffalo sauce and mozzarella.

No pool tables at Quarter Barrel. Just pinball and video arcade games right now.
Yes!
Hi Nona. Yes, we offer gift cards. They are available at the bar.
Yes, we have 4 TVs. Usually 2 or 3 of them are playing goofy movies from the 80s and 90s. We're not much of a sports bar, so your not likely to catch a game on the tubes unless it's the Cubs or Hawkeyes or some particularly important game.
Yes, we are a restaurant. Popular? Well, we definitely have our crowd. We try our darnedest to source local and prepare almost all of our menu items from scratch. That resonates with some people. We're an arcade with close to 35 arcade games (from the 70s-90s) and pinball machines. And we are a brewery as well, currently with 13 house brewed beers on tap, plus a wide selection of guest beers. So back to your question: are we a popular restaurant? Yes, especially amogst those people that appreciate what we do. But we're much much more than just a restaurant.
We are open until 2 am on weekend nights and midnight during the week. If and when evening volume justifies it, we may consider staying open later on weekdays, but for the time being midnight seems most appropriate. However, we do allow our bartenders to use their discretion in staying open later than midnight if we have a group of customers that are still enjoying themselves at the Quarter Barrel come the witching hour.
