This place is so cool! We parked here to go on a hike, and when we came back, all the elk were there too! Such a fun way to end the day!

The volunteer guys were so kind and gentle to all visitors. I drive almost 3hrs to see the elk and it was very woth to do it, you should get on time at 1:30 if you'd like to see feeding.

Gather the family, bundle up, and make the drive to the Oak Creek Wildlife feeding station and get the opportunity to see lots of Elk, up close. Huge mature males with amazing displays of antlers, as well as small little calves, adorable! They are open 10-4 but pay attention to feeding time (was 1:30) when we went. Arrive just before that feeding time..... as if they are wearing watches the elk will come over the hillside in droves and come down for the feeding. You can ride in the truck to drop feed out in the field, but we have not done that so I am not sure what the scheduling is like for that. We have visited several times and have never been disappointed.

It's by donation for the tour and you should call and get reservations. You will need to have a discover pass for the parking lot. Feeding should be around 9 am
They, the elk, did not come down last weekend while we were there. Went back early and at feeding time, 1:30 but nothing came down. I was once told, if there wasnt any snow in the low lands then the elk will stay up in the hills to feed. If the snowfall is heavy at the feeding station the elk will come to feed on the delivered hay.
Elk are fed daily at 1:30pm Starting mid December. January & February are best months for viewing. More information (509)653-2390. Visitor center is open 9am-4pm.
When I was there two weeks ago there weren't any elk.
You don't need a pass to visit the feeding station.
Good question. The visitors building is closed due to covid. Check back when places start to open up again.
Two weeks ago there were approximately 200 there
Certain times. Once a day I believe at 1 or 130
WDFW website will tell you.
If you want to ride on the trucks, it is a good idea to reserve ahead of time. You may also want to call ahead and ensure that they are feeding on that day.
Joe may be correct re elk. Driving the rugged roads may be sketchy in January, unless you are prepared for rugged travel.
They heard was down and kicking it for over a month
They don't come down unless it snows down hard on the hilltops, then they know the route to get fresh food.
Yes they should
They start feeding when the snow starts
There is no fire in the Oak Creek area. It's further up the pass, but the smoke from it is making poor visibility and unhealthy conditions
9:30 and 1:30
There are no elk over there! I went yesterday, was disappointed 😐
You basically need a Discovery Pass everywhere in less posted
