The Whistle Stop is a worthwhile trip off I-65 whenever you travel in the Louisville/Elizabethtown region. Their Pot Roast was TO DIE FOR (see the attached picture). The adjacent antique stores had everything priced in reasonable fashion. I pray everyone sees this region now, before the new Li-ion battery plant changes everything.

This place may have the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! Tastes so good it makes you wanna slap yer momma! Great, friendly atmosphere, wonderful comfort food and an even better experience when a train rumbles by blowing its horn! Rachel was attentive, kind and courteous! What a wonderful place to experience a small town diner! I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

While traveling we HAD to get a Hot Brown while in Kentucky. This was amazing! We also enjoyed the appetizer sampler. The fried green tomatoes were perfect! Prompt friendly service and delicious food....what more could you ask for!

Despite feeling like you drove into a different time of living and history. You'll still be satisfied with the food as if it came straight out of the good old days. This is a Southern experience You'll have to come check out for yourself. The lines were out the door, the smells of the cooking aromas were bursting from the building, the classic old country look and design within and the train passing by as the building vibrates and shakes made this experience well worth the trip out. So grab your Ma and Pa, your young lass or your grandparents and head on over for a good quality southern meal.
