One of the best lakes and retreat center that I have seen…the overlooking deck is beautiful, we spent hours sitting on the rocking chairs and watching the lake…we couldn’t go hiking due to weather but were told there’s a 2mile walking trail which we surely will come back to…they also have nature center for kids and grownups to learn more about the snakes, turtles and other wildlife; the center runs multiple events throughout…you can rent a boat, fish, etc …Also saw some free sourwood and black gum saplings…

Wasnt able to catch any fish today but I'll try again this summer, had fun teaching my boyfriend how to use a fishing rod and saw lots of ducks, ducklings, deer, fawns, and herons. The trail that goes all the way around the lake is really peaceful, great for hiking or dog walking, even just a casual stroll, just bring bug spray, you can thank me later.

My son and I come here to fish all the time. Everything is very well maintained and the education center has some cool snakes, turtles, and other animals to view. The boat rental/bait/snack shop is very affordable. All the staff has been friendly and helpful also!

A 2 mile mulched walking trail around the lake is spotted with benches to take a break on. Full size or jogging stroller friendly. There are fishing spots and canoe rentals available from the community center there. Leashed dog friendly. Least busy during the week days. Wildlife like water fowel and turtles can frequently be seen.

Yes! This is only place around that I have had success with. You just have to find the right spot. Dont try fishing off the boat dock.
Yes
No. Would be nice.
No idea. Maybe tou could ask an employee there. Or ask tge parks and rec dept.
I have personally asked. The only boats allowed are the ones you can rent. There are also only certain times during the year that you can rent them.
