DO NOT GO HERE EVER IF YOU WANT YOUR TEETH TO BE TREATED WITH CARE AND IF YOU WANT TRANSPARENCY WITH WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED! 1) They had a dentist who is NOT in my network do my dental work. The dentists name is Dr. Pouldar and he isn't in my network so he shouldn't have even touched my teeth to begin with (I didn't know this until after I called my insurance company as that was my first time there). I went in for a chipped tooth and was told had 2 cavities and needed fillings; one on the top back molar and one on the back of the chipped tooth I was initially there for. I agree to having 2 fillings done as it was needed--During my entire time in the chair, Dr. Pouldar and the assistant Fatima were, I kid you not, flirting the entire time with one another--talking about how much Dr. Pouldar's father likes Fatima, how he will buy her some item from the Melrose Trading Post worth $150 as a sort of thanks for putting up with him, and that if he ever goes to work somewhere else that he will tell the new employer that they are essentially a package deal. Because of all the flirting and not paying attention to my teeth, Dr. Pouldar slipped and the drill went into the inside of my cheek leaving a painful mark making it hard to even close my mouth. He also did not put any Novacaine into my gums but rather just put into the side of my cheek leaving my entire left side of my face numb until around 10pm(my appointment was at 3pm). Here's the best part--the next day I was eating grapes and the chipped tooth he was supposed to have fixed chipped again but this time it's much larger than what I had when I went in there to begin with. 2) They told me I HAD to get a decensitizer (I'm told the code for this is 9911) on both teeth stating it was so that my filling would be better sealed--when called my insurance company, they told me that they usually only use that on someone who is just about on the verge of needing a root canal and it's for extremely sensitive teeth in pain. I was not given a choice they told me I had to have it as a sealant on each tooth. They charged me $380 total for 2 fillings and 2 decensitizers. I was told I should have been charged $80 for one and $90 for the other and I should have been given a choice to have it or not. I wasn't. 3) I email them and explain everything that happened and asked if someone there with more experience can fix my teeth or I want to be refunded so I can go somewhere else. They send me over a form which I've attached in a photo telling me the only way that they will refund me is if I sign this statement saying that I won't tell anyone, written or verbally about the experience I had there or make them look bad. SOOOO SHADY!!! Even my insurance company told me 100% not to sign it and that it's basically an admission of guilt to even ask me not to tell anyone what happened to me as it is pretty serious. 4) They told me my insurance plan doesn't have any coverage and that it's basically a discount plan where I get a certain percentage off based on my individual plan; again not true. My insurance provider told me I have coverage with an HMO plan and I'm not on any discounted rates plan. This place is just terrible. They will place you with 'dentists' outside of your network, they will tell you that you have to have things done which you don't need, they don't pay attention when working on your teeth resulting in wounds, and the dental work is so bad that the next day my tooth was chipped worse than it had been initially from eating a freaking grape of all things. Would give zero stars if possible.

The staff at this doctors office were great from the moment I walked in the door. I felt welcomed and at ease from the moment I arrived which is important to me at a doctor's office. Everyone I encountered was very knowledgeable and helpful as well. Dr. Lorenz walked me through my procedure and told me what to expect. From there everything went off without a hitch. I feel happy and fortunate to have a dentist office that I can trust and know I will always be able to get top notch care from!!

What I love about Encino Family Dental Group is their ability to work quickly and effectively. The worst part about going to the dentist is waiting around to be treated. I have pretty bad dental anxiety so it's great how fast they move their patients in and out without sacrificing the quality of their work. Easily a 5-star dentist!! Just make sure you bring some extra cash for parking payment.

Dr. Schneider & Dr. Harpaz are excellent dentists with a great front office staff! The greatest part about this office is their ability to get you in & out in a timely manner, while maintaining professionalism. No complaints - they're a great family dentist if you're located nearby!
