Wow, this is in Fayetteville's backyard? The place is clean and the wildlife is interesting to look at! Have only been here once but my general impression is that it's great! I saw people walking their dogs, jogging, and just walking. I will definitely be coming back.

Been to both locations plenty of times, but absolutely love the Sandhills Access.

This is a new access to carvers creek, there are not a lot of people. Very quiet. Horses are allowed on this trail, just watch your dogs to make sure they don't roll in poo. I'm updating to add, there are a lot more people accessing this state park than there used to be, but it's still a nice quiet place. The parking lot completely fills on the weekends, but there's plenty of trail space and miles of trails. Lots of wildflowers and mushrooms to look at.

Do you like sand and pine trees? All the trails are wide enough to drive a truck down. Parking area is huge with a nice pit privy. Dead end spur trail did not disappoint and is a must see. No camping.
