The worst building dept in south Florida! So bad they even had to fire their managers.
Steven Knese
Just work with the people in the office at the city of Plantation in your inspector and try to do things the correct way the 1st time 1st time they're not hard to work with
None Ya
Horrible service. I would never live in plantation just because of how the building department is. No body in the building knows how to communicate nor knows how to talk to customers. You get bounced around, thrown to the side, not replied to on emails that are resent 3 times, etc...
Jose Lazaro
Will definitely be the last time I pull a permit for this city so catch me if you can ! Inspector are the worst not knowledgeable and they don't go by the specs provided. They make you change the work once the inspector goes so it can be up to his specifications and he fails you then you have to pay re-inspection fees. Just like every other government jobs here in broward they treat you like crap. If you don't like your jobs then quit ! Morons !

Once submitted to the building department you have 60 days to pick it up. Once you pick up your permit it will expire in 180 days if no inspections are done.
The city of Plantation is going to require a detailed set of plans for any electrical chathe electrical change and you'll probably have to have load projections on your boxes it's a little more complicated
Not to the public
Check with zoning dept. They may have a program
You will need a permit. Come to the bldg. Dept. And we can give you the forms. 3 copies of your survey and 2 engineered drawings. You will get them where you buy the shed. Zoning will tell you your setbacks.
That's not the responsibility of the building department. If the wires need to be checked hire a certified license electrical contractor. If a contractor did a bad or dangerous job call code enforcement and they'll check it. Any other questions please feel free to ask
No you can use hurricane shutters if you'd like to but the best thing is to call and ask they are very helpful just make sure you have all the information
