I got certified here for PADI Open Water. I am not the most comfortable in the water, but the instructors here are amazing. Mike was so patient at times when I would get really nervous. He would take his time and not rush me, yet would make sure I could perform the skills needed. Sarah is very experienced and has a very calm way of teaching. She made my last dive extremely smooth. They also have the best pricing in the Charlotte area. I HIGHLY recommend!

Myself and my 11 year old son were certified in open water diving through suns up scuba on 5/29/22. They were absolutely WONDERFUL PEOPLE!! I had some difficulty completing one of the must preform task to get certified and at NO TIME did I ever feel like the instructors were giving up on me! It was actually the opposite. They encouraged me and kept trying to give me other techniques to complete the task. They allowed me to keep coming to the confined space ( pool ) dives until was was able and comfortable doing the task and then move onto the open water dives and certification completion! Instructors Mike ( shop owner ) Jonathan, Scott and Sarah are top notch dive instructors and my son and I will DEFINITELY be returning to suns up scuba to get our advanced certification once we get some dives under our belts and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Suns Up Scuba if you’re considering getting certified in scuba! Call or stop by and see them and they’ll help get the ball rolling on your certification and see you through till the end!! My husband and I just got our Open Water certification through Suns Up Scuba. Great prices for the course and scuba gear. I called at least 6-7 other dive shops to compare first. Mike was an awesome instructor and so accommodating for us. We drove over 2 1/2 hours just to come to this shop, and it was definitely worth it! We two very happy new scuba divers :)
