The bar is rustic and friendly. However, the staff is not. I paid my tab and the bartender asked “ in cash?!?” As if it was some foreign currency. I told her yes and she took the cash ( tip included , not assumed ) , never said thank you but instead crumbled the receipt facing away from me and proceeded to chat with a couple she knew. I felt it was incredibly rude. I continued to finish my drink and leave. Restrooms have chalkboard walls which is cool, but I wouldn’t return. Honest opinion.

Our bartender was very attentive and fun, we liked him very much. We got the buffalo chicken fries and they were stupendous. The selection of beers wasn't my favorite, but we found some that we liked. We enjoyed the live music that was happening all day long - on a Saturday. All in all a really great experience.

We went to Jack of the Wood recently on a Thursday night and had a great time. A bluegrass band was jamming and there were beautiful folks, having a good time drinking beer and listening to the music. We sat in the front and had our minds blown by musicians as good as they come. At first I thought they were a rehearsed band but turns out they were all just local musicians, sitting in and improvising on common repertoire, which they do every Thursday night. One of our go-to places. We always have a great time drinking, eating & listening to music. It can get very touristy, but drinking a beer and enjoying old time jams with a bunch of people just makes you happy. Great service every time.
