Rest Area Catawba County I-40 Westbound

This a new and clean place. Bathrooms are well air conditioned and clean.. There was plenty of room to park. Truckers had a huge lot separated from the other cars. Plus there was a safe place to walk my dog. Easy access to the vending machines. Lots of trees for shade and outdoor tables. There were long ramps to enter and merge on and off highway, so safety was not an issue. Kids had space to run around if needed. Felt like a safe spot.

Facility was very clean and the workers were highly visible throughout the facility and grounds. Had I been traveling alone, I would still have felt safe.

This rest area was very easy off and back on to the highway there was ample parking the grounds were extremely well kept the bathroom facilities were very clean and the vending machine were well stocked. If you have to stop to go this is the place to do it.

I'm so impressed with rest stops in North Carolina. This is the 2nd rest area we've been to this week. Restrooms are clean, great parking areas for RVers, vending machines and green areas for pets to stretch their legs and do their business. Trucks stop by frequently but not too loud. My only comment would be for them to clarify the parking areas for RVs. After we walked around the premise we noticed there are 6 spaces for RVs in the auto parking area but the sign clearly says "autos". Anyhow not a biggie.
