What a cool little treat on our road trip. We love covered bridges and had to turn around and check this one out. So much history here.

Very historic landmark and well worth the stop, probably give yourself about 45 minutes to the tour the historic area! It is a landmark that you will not be disappointed once you’ve seen it!

I love this historic bridge. I’m glad it has been turned into a park. I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s nice to see the work that has been done to preserve the bridge and the area.

Another beautiful historical nugget tucked away here in Catawba County. Unfortunately, due to flooding from torrential floodwaters in 2020, a portion of the walking trail has been washed away. What use to be open access to the creek below the bridge has now been fenced in and allows no entryway to wade or sit and enjoy the water. The bridge fortunately is still intact, but in need of repair, due to age and defacing due too vandalism. The lower parking lot has access to a quaint picnic area, allowing for adequate shade and privacy.

I would not recommend it. It would be accessible in the park some distance from the bridge, but not very inviting to me.

No. Just short hike to the bridge. There is a place not far away which is called Murray's Mill. Google that and go because it is Beautiful with lots of trails.
