One of the best DMVs I’ve ever used. When you enter they have a staff member that will point you to the appropriate kiosk based on why you are visiting. After signing in, I had to wait about 10 minutes to be called to a window. They had probably 6-10 windows opened and they moved pretty fast. The lady working was super friendly, helpful, and a real pleasure to work with compared to DMV nightmares in other states! For military residents of other states, you need mil ID, proof of insurance, current registration, and the current EOM LES if you simply want NE tags.

Best DMV i have ever experienced. i have never spent more than 10 minutes in there. i own 2 trucks, 3 boats/trailers and 4 cars so i have spent my fair of time in there. I have lived in Sarpy county for close to 10 years and dealt with Douglas county hour long lines before that. most people only post negative reviews so keep that in mind reading on here

no one answers the phone ever, when they finally get on a phone they are rude and you are wasting their time. These people have the best work hours on earth and can't be nice when they talk to you I don't get it. Never in 12 years of living in Sarpy have I had a good experience in here. If they were retail they would be out of business.... Must be nice to be government mandated thus not worry about customer satisfaction.

This is obviously something that everyone is reluctant about going to. My birthday was on July 6th. I am getting married on July 19th. I found out that Nebraska has a 30 day grace period for license renewals, AFTER the fact I already renewed mine no help to the workers there. First thing I asked the lady when entering was, "I am getting married on the 19th of July. I will be changing my last name. If there is anyway I can have a temporary license with my old name, and then a new license with my new last name?" The response I got was, "no honey, you have to pay $26 now, then after you are married come back and pay $13 to get your name changed." She should have told me that there is a 30 day grace period, and I don't have to renew my license till after the wedding and just pay one payment of $26, but she didn't. Also, they give paper copies of the renewed license and mail you the real one in up to 25 days......I will not even be able to use the license I just bought because when it arrives my last name will be different. So, going to the DMV was absolutely a waste of time and money. The workers were rude and should have told me about the grace period, rather than I buying a useless license just to buy a new one not even a week later. They also do not take credit or debit cards. The lady rudely informed me that they never will (supposedly) take cards because of the processing fee. They will only take cash and checks, so be prepared with cash and or check so you don't have to make two trips if you only have a card.

Questions & Answers

we sold a vehicle to our daughter and want to get it transferred, what do we need to bring or do to get this done

If its an out of state title. Bring the vehicle, title and ten dollars to the inspection office. Once its inspected youll go down the hall to get the title n tags. If its not out of state, just take the title to titling. The owner, your daughter would need to be here to get the title. Titling needs current insurance and the bill of sale.

where exactly do i go to get a vehicle inspection? any special door or entrance?

It is a small office right at the front of the building. Enter the building, take a left before the stairs, and look left down the hallway.
