Place is amazing, but if u are planning to go by yourself and bring your tripods, DONT DO IT! Is not allowed and you probably didn't know. I felt frustrated, because i was by myself and couldn't take my pictures

No you dont its before the parks enterance gates. But you may need to go through security to access the spot. Also keep in mind parking is not free. There is however a dropoff area nearby.
