I’m not shocked to see all the negative reviews for this pitiful excuse of a government agency. The overpriced water is disgusting, we don’t drink, cook or even make ice with it. Their billing system is ridiculous and makes no sense. I’ve been paying my bills the same way for 2 years, now all of a sudden the water gets cut off with NO warning. Their excuse for no warning? “ We don’t have enough people to be able to do that” Are you serious? It’s 2022, there is technology for that. Get with it Pender county, we pay enough for the disgusting water, we deserve better. I see where they sometimes reply with some lame excuse trying to justify themselves, just don’t. It’s embarrassing to even read. Whoever has any pull there should be ashamed of themselves.

For a government agency, this place is absolutely terrible. Would give negative 5 stars if I could. They will shut off your water with out ANY notice. And will blame it on their outdated system. It is the most pitiful thing ever. Thank god I have well water.

Pender county shut my water off due a billing error on their part. No notification from pender. I called and was informed a tech would come out and correct the mistake that same day. No tech showed up. Called the main office next day. They stated the tech filled out the form stating he turned water back on. He did not! The tech lied. Be careful - get names of who you speak to. This company does not follow through.

Avoid this company at all costs!!! They shut off our water the beginning of November without any notice whatsoever. I thought that there was an outage in the area, they claimed they put a tag on the door which was a blatant lie. They never sent out October's bill or it got lost in mail, so we sent out payment for both months as soon as we received Nov bill. The company is complete chaos, and it needs to be completely overhauled. They are supposed to send out a written notice 10 days prior to shutoff date. The very minimum is they could make a call or have an automated call with a warning, but they did nothing but shut off our water and it took all day to turn it back on. Dig a well, get rain barrels, whatever it takes, just don't let this company place a meter at your business or residence. I was about to go outside and disconnect it myself, but we were already paid up for 4 months at this point because my wife called and paid for 2 extra months. Of course they won't refund any of the extra paid.

Depends on what part of Hampstead. Some subdivisions and other areas use a private company
$220 per year for full disposal, $110 for recycle only. Sticker is for 2 years with a set end date, so purchase would be pro-rated for the amount of time remaining on the sticker. Current stickers expire in March 2023. The fee is typically charged on the tax bill for property owners within the service areas.
Usually the bill must be paid by the due date to avoid service being cut off. Depending on the cut-off schedule, you may have a couple of days after the due date before a cut off is scheduled.
