The movers were courteous and very polite. They took great care to make sure all of our belongings arrived in damaged. We made a stop at a storage unit and unloaded items and then on to my new home. They were great! I would recommend them to anyone.

Working with Obrien's was a mixed bag. I moved from PA to WA and since my work was paying for the move, price wasn't an issue. I purchased every service they offered i.e. full packing, moving, best insurance offered, and vehicle shipping. The estimator was friendly and easy to work with. The price was considerably lower than competitors( I obtained 3 estimates).  The paperwork and instructions were clear and transparent. You feel like you're working with a respectable company. Unfortunately there were some issues. The packers were not particularly careful or organized. The boxes were pretty much all labelled the same, "nic nacs" which means you have no idea what's in the box. This was a real problem on the delivery end and when one of my boxes went missing, there was no way to identify it. I am not sure why they didn't use the descriptive check boxes on the side of the packing box. I had two items listed as "extraordinary value" but neither packers or movers seemed able to or interested in packing these carefully. One item was an oriental rug that I asked several times to be wrapped in paper and plastic to protect it. Packers and movers avoided this despite multiple requests. I checked the truck before it left and found that it was sitting on the floor of the truck not plastic wrapped so I ended up taking it out and doing it myself. My other item of "extraordinary value" was a piece of furniture that ultimately showed up broken. Interesting that neither of these items were marked in any way after packing to indicate they were valuable. In the end, I had two broken pieces of furniture and a missing box that had no description on the manifesto to indicate it's contents. The car shipping went pretty smoothly. They subcontracted through a place called Montway and care was transported on an open carrier. Pickup and drop off was seamless. Took about 3 weeks to arrive and was about 3 days past the delivery window. I think the saving grace in all this is Allied's customer service and claims department. They were easy to work with for my broken items and missing box(which never was located) and either fixed or reimbursed me fairly quickly. All in all it wasn't a terrible experience. But if I am sparing no expense with a move I hope it would go smoother than it did. I will likely try a different company for my next move.

Over the years, I have moved many times - both locally and cross country. I've worked with large and small moving companies. My most recent move was local (Abington PA to Lansdale PA). Although moving is always stressful on one level or another, working with O'Brien's Moving & Storage was indeed a GREAT experience. From the first phone call until the last box was unloaded from the truck and brought into my new home, everyone at O'Brien's was pleasant and professional. The estimate I received was thorough and very competitively priced. The team that executed my move was on time, courteous and hardworking. They treated my belongings as though they belonged to them! And, best of all, when my final inventory was decreased because I purged a few belongings, they lowered the amount I had to pay. I could not have asked for a better move experience!
