Update: the food is still exquisite. However, I am not a fan of the spicy ice cream put on top of the Mexican chocolate bread pudding. Please bring the crème anglaise back for this dessert. Review from November 2021: As a New Yorker coming to UVA for a recruiting event, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is simply exquisite: fresh and flavorful. The chocolate pudding is to die for. Service was excellent as well.

My second time here. Fantastic again! Excellent salmon. Excellent scallops. The crispy brussel sprouts with chorizo was outstanding. Very attentive staff. I highly recommend Zocalo when in C'ville and you want to elevate your dining experience.

Nice industrial atmosphere, great service! And the drunken sirloin, and scallop dinner are the best! And don't forget the cheese fritters, delicious!

There is a chef in the kitchen. The quality of the meal is the proof. I had an amazing grilled salmon, which was bursting with flavor. We also had polenta fries and asparagus.
