Had an amazing time here. Campgrounds are nice and clean. Restrooms are well maintained and even have running hot waters for showers. There are couple of campsites near to the lake with beach access, only problem is the restroom lights which is on throughout the night. We were at 84 and it was small but good from small group. It had a lake access and tap water access near to campsite. Covered with trees so we got the shade throughout the entire day. Overall enjoyed our stay here, will come back again

Clean, cheap, and the couple that work the gate were so nice!! Great amenities and swimming areas, really nice rv spots. Definitely an escape!!!

Fun peaceful camping trip. We have a larger 5th wheel unit. Easy access to the lake and a boat ramp. Only has water and electric hookups. There was no way for me to use the dump station. It is a tight turn into and out of it, even for a small unit. Clean bathhouse and showers. Has 2 swimming areas. Had a good time there.

Camped out on deer island. This is an amazing, beautiful park. Good beaches, facilities and friendly staff.

If you put your boat in at the Salt house you can ride over and camp on Deer or Turkey Island.They are only Accessable by boat.
Salthouse Branch campground is open now through the end of October. I spoke with the attending Rangers yesterday before launching my kayak. There are few campers using the grounds so far since it's early in the season. Some sites are nicely separated from the others. "Well situated" is a better description than secluded.
Most of them should be big enough
I work at Salthouse. We are open, beaches and all. Only thing is no renting Pavilion for parties. No more than 6 people to a site. Day use is open at no charge until Oct. online reservations only for camping. Not all electric water sites are open yet because of flooding, but should be very soon.
It depends on if ur site is open or not. I have set up like around 3pm for the past couple holiday's.
