Yes. Fluorescent tubes, CFLs, and ballasts. Compact fluorescent bulbs, high intensity discharge bulbs (HID), and light emitting diode (LED) bulbs are hazardous and must NOT go in any trash, recycling, or composting bin. Incandescent light bulbs (including those made with argon, krypton, and xenon gases), and halogen bulbs are not hazardous waste and can be put in the trash.
Yes. Non-working or older televisions, computer monitors, computers, computer peripherals, and other electronic waste are accepted for drop-off at no cost for Alameda County residents.
No. They do not take wood of any kind. Transfer Stations and Landfills accept this waste, or call your waste hauler for a bin. Go to www.RESource.StopWaste.org and search "painted wood" to get started. Call the facility before you go.
