First time in over 12 years. Treated me like a daily visitor. Within no time I had a replacement library card. Up to speed on using wireless network.

Always love this quiet wonderful place. I can stop in get a book and an hour or so of sanity.

I love that you can request books online and pick them up at this library. It’s such a special place!

Friendly librarians, computers for public use, open tables for collaboration, large children's section, teen room, reference librarian and materials. Most space is designated for talking, but there are traditional quiet areas in the corners. The library fills up with students when school gets out so table space is limited from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. Parking may be difficult around 4:00 p.m. for the same reason. Library hours are different on different days of the week.

Hi Carolyn, Thanks for asking! We have not yet resumed many of our classes and events, and that includes Genealogy. Please keep an eye on our events page (https://aclibrary.bibliocommons.com/events/search/index) to see what we are offering.

The library is less than a 10 minute walk from the CV BART station and is on the same street. Exit the station and make your way to the street, Norbridge Avenue. Follow Norbridge to the right one block, crossing a major intersection with Redwood Road. Walk two more blocks along Norbridge and the library will be on your left. The library is only open for contactless pickup, by appointment, or returns.
24/7 in our drop box to the right of our return machines.
We have everything we’re getting except the State of California 540. At this point those can only be requested to be emailed to you. Visit the Franchise Tax Board website to request.

The Hayward Public Library is a City run library and not part of the Alameda County Library System so we are not privy to that information. Unfortunately, their website says TBD. Sorry we couldn't help.
Our Friends of the Castro Valley Library have a bookstore on site. The Friends accept books as donations, but be sure to check their website for and restrictions. https://cvlibraryfriends.tumblr.com/
