Our home had a burglary the first week of august 2021 . We called 911 at around 10:15 pm and we were told since this was not an emergency we would have to wait , which is fine it’s understandable. The cops showed up the following day and took the report letting us know that if we suspected anyone or found any video evidence to let him. After collecting video evidence from neighbors and finding a suspect we called the number we were provided , he didn’t pick up so we left a voice mail also letting him know that we sent an email with the suspects information and video evidence. No reply back . I kept calling and emailing him for about two weeks straight and got reply what so ever. I even went to the UCPD office to enquire but I got no response. It’s been over 6 months since this incident happened we still have no response from the police officer . If we didn’t have any evidence or any suspect closing our case would have been alright , but what angers me is that despite having all the evidence still no effort was put in the finding our suspect or punishing him . My concern to UCPD is that why are we paying so much in taxes to help fund you if your going to turn out to be no help to us. Our home was vandalized and ransacked and no support or empathy was provided . We were in a state of shock and grief when we found out this happened to our home . We felt unsafe living in our home knowing that it was violated but some criminals . It’s February of 2022 and the criminal that disrespected our home and traumatized us for forever is still roaming freely with out any charges while the UCPD just sits in their office doing nothing. I feel disappointed to be a resident of union city paying taxes that funds these mediocre cops for the past 15 years . .

The police officers I dealt with were very compassionate and helped me during my family crisis. They didn't talk down to me or make me feel like they were better than me. I know they have a tough job and see people on their worst days but I was glad they were there to help me

Tonight at10.45 had police here as for 40 min heard something on my roof walking pounding walking. I called they sent two officers our. I showed them where I heard the noise they flashed there lights and a huge raccoon came down. Then in minutes they seen it again. Really big. I know the difference usually cats animals run across roof. This thing was staying scratching making noise lije adult up there.i didn't have any beighbirs numbers to call so called them. Thank you to the two officers for coming out. Now I'll be able to sleep.💗
