Very friendly neighborhood hardware store. They won't have anything big like appliances and lumber for the most part but they will have everything else you need to take on a project. Staff is very helpful and very able to help you navigate the store (which is much bigger than you might expect).

RW Shattuck is yet another great locally owned Ace Hardware store. Ace is my first stop when I need something for my house projects. They have sufficiently deep inventory and pleasant, helpful staff. Most of the time I can avoid going to the big box store where nobody knows anything and stuff is hard to find.
