Decent overall experience. Ramen was pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. Atmosphere: 9/10. It's a very small storefront, but well-decorated and clean. There were tables outside, but it was a bit hot for that so we had a window-side half-booth that was just fine. It wasn't too noisy, and had some entertaining food network shows on in the background. Food: 8/10. I had the tonkotsu ramen (I believe it shows the most technical ability, so it's what I always get when I visit a ramen place for the first time), friend with me had the Nishikawa black. We both enjoyed our bowls, but I did feel the broth lacked the richness and intensity that is the trademark of a good tonkotsu. However, the other elements were just right-- the soft-boiled egg was tender with a runny yolk, and the chasu was falling apart. The broth wasn't overly oily, and I thought the noodles were fine (although not the best I've had-- they weren't the perfectly chewy, bouncy ramen noodle I was expecting). However, for $15 per bowl, I think it was a decent value and I did finish my bowl entirely. Facilities: 8/10. Just one single stall, which makes sense for the size of the restaurant. It was clean, but the lights were flickering in a slightly alarming way, and there isn't a changing station.

Definitely a high level of Ramen, good atmosphere, quick service, clean. Ordered the Nishikawa black ramen and the pork gyoza all really good. I would highly recommend and will come back!

I was told to try this place out by a friend who's an executive chef, so I believe his recommendations, and this one was spot on. I had the nishikawa black ramen, and it was extremely flavorful and filling. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for some of the best ramen in the area.

Probably the best ramen in Phoenix! I got the Nishikawa ramen that has black garlic. The mild had a tiny kick. Nishikawa Ramen is a little oily, so only get it if you’re okay with that. The noodles are really thin, which are amazing. They do run out of soft boiled seasoned eggs so get them early! My fiancé got the classic Tonkotsu medium heat. Excellent as well. Highly recommend getting the gyoza. It has the crispiest bottom with tender meat, served with a yuzu sauce! This place is better than the ramen I’ve eaten in Washington DC! Pretty well matched to LA.

Although I don't believe their menu changes much, the most current menu can surely be found on their website: https://www.nishikawa-ramen.com/ Also, note the spelling of Nishikawa has no "m" in it.

Are the noodles made from wheat?

Yes. Japanese noodles are normally made with wheat or buckwheat. Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine have more dishes with rice noodles in case you're avoiding wheat.
