**UPDATE: Received a call from Samantha today. She was very understanding and took care of our complaints. Also told me to reach out to her if we have any problems in the future. She restored our faith in customer service. Thank you Samantha!!*** To start, we went into Deans to look at pellet stoves and get pricing. We found a unit we liked and asked for the price. Forward 3 hrs later.. we were vested at that point and ended up purchasing the unit through them. Our salesperson told us there was a deal going on for pellets. We decided to buy a pallet. She told us that if we bought two pallets, delivery was free. We purchased the two pallets. The day of the install, the piping was was just placed straight out of the side of the house, not turned like the saleswoman told us. Then came the start up. Nothing. A supposedly brand new unit and it didn’t start. Not a good way to begin. Four weeks later the tech came back to replace the switch in the auger. Didn’t replace the switch, jumped it out because it’s a ‘common problem.’ Then the pellets were delivered. The delivery person attempted to collect an $80 delivery fee. We explained that delivery was supposed to be free. Deans then ‘lowered’ the fee to $50. When we called them, they admitted they made a mistake and that’s why they lowered the delivery fee. When we refused to pay, the woman on the phone told us not to call deans if we had a problem with the stove because they would NOT fix it and then hung up on me. Shame on us for not doing our due diligence before purchasing from them. Buyer Beware

Once I had decided to have a gas insert, my daughter and I went to Dean's on a Sunday to see what was offered. We worked with Chris Scalia who was wonderful! He was very patient and informative, answering all our questions. The insert was installed within four weeks of ordering and everything from the plumber, installers and inspections went smoothly. I use my fireplace every day! Chris followed up after the work was completed and always returns a phone call if I have a question!. Extremely satisfied with Dean's and all the staff!

After reading some of the reviews, I was apprehensive to buy from Dean's. We worked with Chris Scalia at Dean's and he was excellent. We had a very good experience and everything is still working well. Chris has taken the time to follow up after the sale, and after the install. We had a good experience and I do recommend them. Here are some before and after photos.

We had a pleasant experience. Our Salesperson was Zack Paradise, he was fantastic and explained each stove to help us decide which Pizza Oven to buy. We decided on the Clementi Medium Size pizza oven and made the right choice. We love the stove. It’s easy to use, comes to temperature quickly and makes a great pizza. See some of our photos. If your thinking about buying a pizza oven go to Deans’s Stove and Spa in Connecticut. Well worth a trip. Toni and Doug

Hello Mr. Savinelli - Thank you for your email. Mr. Bibber is correct. We do not sell Harman stoves in any of our locations. Our focus instead is to bring the highest quality, most advanced hearth products to our customers. We invite you to come into one of our showrooms and experience them for yourself. We look forward to seeing you soon. - Dean's Team
Masks are required
Yes they do, as long as the stove was purchased from them. They occasionally will service non installed stoves if they are the same manufacturers that they sell.
It does not have to be previously purchased at Dean's
Thank you for your question. No we do not. You should try a furniture store for that type of appliance. Thanks!
They have been cleaning our units for 3 years with no issues.
It would take electrical testing to be sure but without knowing the symptoms prior to the failure it would be a complete guess until that testing.
Obviously you have a gas fireplace, maybe your model has an over-temperature shutdown. After it runs for a while it may get too hot and shutoff, once it is off for a bit it turns back on. If it is not an intentional safety, it could be that the solenoid (electrical valve), could be overheating causing it to close temporarily. Either way it's related to the valve.
Although there is high-temp tape available for furnace exhaust, wood stove pipes are generally not sealed in that manner. The pipes can get very hot and will vaporize any adhesive stuck to them. That is a smell you don't want to smell. Modern double (and triple) wall stove pipe seals up very well and should not leak air in or out of the pipe. Older single wall pipe should be arranged so any creosote will drip back into the stove. This will make the pipe arrangement backwards of what you might expect. But in reality, a hot chimney is more likely to such air into it than to let smoke out. If significant smoke is leaking out when you are burning, you may have a blockage upstream and should get it checked out by a licensed chimney sweep.
