Interesting how this little store had what I needed when the big box hardware stores didn't have it.

This place is a joke. The manager strung my husband along for weeks saying he was gonna hire him once he could just hear back from HR. He continued to ask him to call every day to check in with absolutely no updates. He even had him come in for an interview and had him continue to call after that. Losing out on money because he was holding off on a different offer. No apologies were ever given for the absolute waste of my husbands time and energy. No response was even given when he finally said he’s gotta know soon because he can’t keep losing out on money. This guy and his store are pathetic. Do not bother. Maybe if my husband had fairer skin the manager would’ve hired him or treated him with a bit more respect.

I prefer shopping here, when compared to the big box stores (Lowes, Home Depot etc.) It's much easier to find common hardware items and more importantly much easier to find an employee when needing guidance with a project or needing help locating an item. I experienced above and beyond assistance from an employee, named Daniel, a couple days ago. Daniel spent 15 minutes or longer helping me determine a unique bolt's diameter, thread pitch and appropriate tap and die (try that at Lowes or HD). Its surprising how many times I can find exactly what I'm searching for in this modestly small store, without walking all over God's creation or battling large crowds/checkout lines. This particular True Value has a bigger and better selection of nuts, bolts and fasteners, including stainless and specialty hardware, than anywhere else in the northeast heights. My only complaint; True Value's website Truely sucks.

I’ve been a steady customer here since they first opened, but I find the “local friendly hardware store atmosphere” is gone. First they closed the restrooms to the public, then they hired new “help’ who for the most part don’t know the hardware business as well as the original employees. (If you don’t know what an “acid brush” is, you need to work somewhere else). This, and stock either limited or allowed to run out (not new, it’s been that way since they opened), and their higher prices has sent another unhappy True Value customer to Lowes!
