TSA here is absolutely awful and derogatory. I was screamed at when I asked for help from a staff member that I didn't know was on the phone. Another TSA staff member checking ID's insinuated I looked "ugly" and too "different" now compared to my ID, and made it seem like I wasn't the same person. A different TSA person made fun of one of my bags I was checking in. Never experienced such horrible treatment from airport staff in my life. Some staff are extremely nice, TSA is the main issue.

This is a small but a very convenient airport. It's located in a 10-minute drive from the center of the city. One of the pleasant moments was dealing with cart rental: you can take or return a car in 2 minutes walk from check-in area. In our case, we didn't have to go and drop the car key: a person in uniform was on the parking 🅿️ lot and accepted it. The great landscape at the airport is a big green surprise especially after travelling over the desert .

Good regional airport. The security opens at 8am, but the terminal is open 24 hours. You might need to wait at the ticket counter depending on how early it is. The gate counter and baggage handler are the same person.

Our earlier flight was canceled. The staff from check in until departure were all amazing and helpful. We ended up spending an hour or in the “cafe/lounge”. Kim was especially helpful and we enjoyed our conversation.

Durango is a great small town airport that (most of the time) you can be close to the cutoff times mentioned in the previous answers and make your flight. BUT ...... if you miss the cut off time you will miss your flight and your confirmed seat will be gone. You will then be rebooked and traveling standby and will only get a seat on the next flight if there is one and so on untill you finally make you destination. No fun and depending on circumstances causes much stress and sometimes tears Come to DRO early and head through security and have something to eat or drink at the Runway Cantina where you'll start your travels feeling relaxed and refreshed. The Phoenix airport calls themselves the friendliest airport. I think Durango has the happiest and friendliest airport in America!
If you're in uniform you can go through precheck...even if you don't go through regular security it's a super small airport so not more than 5 mins
Try Travelocity they have all the info you are looking for.
About 20 min drive. It's out towards Ignacio.
What airline? United or American are the only ones that fly out of DRO. Also it depends on how far in advance you book the flight, the season, the day of the week and the time of day, and what class you want (non-refundable, economy, main cabin, exit row seat, first class) and checked baggage fees. Good luck!
No American Airlines flies in out of DFW and PHX 3 times each a day but United Airlines flies in out of DEN 6 or so flights a day
No but we have taxi's, Uber and lift available
