Best way by Bicycle between Brookline and Cambridge. It's the shortest bridge over the Charles. Spectacular views!

Yes
On the Cambridge side (Memorial Drive) of the Charles River, it is possible. However, from the Boston side (Storrow Drive/Soldiers Field Road) one can not access the BU Bridge. Use the footbridge across Storrow Drive to Commonwealth Avenue.
