Not once but twice they let my schizophrenic son out when he was on a section waiting on a bed search and needs inpatient care he not safe he needs longer care and they just through him on the street he homeless and cant live with family cause he gets violent. This hospital is a disgrace and doesn't care about the safety of it's patients or the community

My mom booked an appointment a few days ago to see her PCP because she hasn't been feeling right. She has a history of transient ischemic attack (mini strokes). The doctor concluded that it be best if she go straight from the doctors office to the ER and get an MRI as soon as possible. I understand long waits should be expected when visiting an ER and hopefully the most critical patients are always seen first. I have personally been to this particular ER maybe 10x over the past year or so due to my own medical issues. Unfortunately, we have had to interact with the same triage nurse named Shannon on multiple occasions. She's the blonde one with the attitude who almost always has snarky remarks. We check in and one of the first things she says, to my mom is that she's probably not having a stroke and "Don't you have a PCP?" as to why are you coming here then. She can't be bothered. I've watched her instigate arguments with patients and even call security after. Some people aren't cut out that setting. It sure isn't easy. It does take a strong person to work those positions but when you start speaking rudely to people and treating them like they don't matter is not acceptable. After having the CT we were sent back to the ER waiting room and that's where we stayed for almost 6 hours. We asked for a few updates here and there in between. We remained patient while seeing at least 3 other patients go running in and out the door while the staff had to chase them down. The staff needs more help. They're overwhelmed and I can't imagine they are being properly compensated for all that they do. Finally, we ask for an update from the doctor that was listed to see my mom. A nurse comes back a little while later and says that the doctor is with a critical patient and won't be able to see my mom at all. So she will try to find a PA who will be able to see her. At that point we just had to leave. Enough was enough. Almost 6 hours and still not being seen for signs along with the history of strokes. We are going to have to go to another facility now. All those hours were just a waste of time.

2020 LGH main campus stole my grandmother’s rings when she was brought to the emergency department after breaking her hip. Today 4-6-2022 staff at Saints campus left my now 93 year old grandmother completely naked, with no blankets, and severely dehydrated. She instantly drank 4 juices and a cup of water that my mother had to provide to her upon visiting. As a social worker myself, I am very aware of the systemic flaws that allow for nursing staff to be overworked and underpaid. However, the elderly deserve dignified care as well. I’ll let these experiences speak for themselves. UPDATE 5-10-2022. My grandmother has still been held at the hospital while awaiting a nursing home. The plan, all along, has been for her to go to a nursing home. Staff has been on board with this plan and have been trying to adjust her meds so that she is able to graduate out of her mesh caged bed, because nursing homes will not take her until she has been out of that for a minimum for 24 hours. This past Saturday, my grandmother graduated out of the mesh cages bed and was in a standard hospital bed. Today, staff informed us my grandmother will be discharged home. When they decided to change this plan without meeting with us is beyond me. My grandmother was mobile before she was hospitalized- she now has lost her ability to walk due to being stuck here at the hospital’s negligence. I have never been so disgusted with the level of “care” (if you can even call this cafe) that was provided.

My mother went to the emergency with chest pains and having a hard time breathing. Her blood pressure was 200/100 and she had a fever of 101f and they didn’t take any of this serious. She has a history of high blood pressure. Has had cancer and they kept her waiting for over 2 hours to see her and see what was going on. If it was a heart attack we don’t know because they took so long she decided to go home. This is unacceptable she could have died and then it would have been too late because they didn’t take it seriously. Would not recommend this hospital to anyone. And I am very disappointed that this is how they treat patients. This is unacceptable from people who are supposed to be there to help patients. Specially the patients who are having emergencies. Such as a high blood pressure that is 200/100.
