Today was the final straw with this Staples. I have continued to use them just because they are convenient, but no longer. We needed a system to boost our WiFi, so I purchased the system the tech associate recommended. After 3 hours of failed attempts to connect, including a long call to my internet provider’s tech support and a drive to Lakeland to swap out modems, I gave up and took it back. I just wanted to swap it for the same system, because it seems I had the bad luck of getting a defective product. No. They didn’t have another in stock. But why don’t I “upgrade” to this other one? It’s a much faster system. I purchased the second one, took it home and took it all out of the box before I realized IT WON’T WORK because it requires a main router. Basically, it’s not a whole system, just a booster, NOT what I wanted or requested. At this point, I’m in meltdown and called the manager, who graciously told me to bring it back for a full refund. I then drove back to Lakeland to Best Buy, had a system recommended to me, and had it up and running in my home in less than 20 minutes. The short version: this store is struggling to stock items and maintain competent tech staff. A project that should have taken an hour to resolve, including travel time to purchase the product, took 7.5 hours to resolve. It’s just not worth it for me anymore to give the store another chance.

Save your sanity and go elsewhere. My first experience I ordered a poster for a work event that was supposed to be done that same day (Thursday). I wasn't in a huge rush so when I didn't get a call that afternoon for pick up I didn't worry too much, but the next day when I called to ask I was told they'd lost my order and it would be ready sometime that weekend. I went on Monday (giving more than enough time) but when they brough up my item it wasn't was I had ordered at all (print, laminated and mounted). I pointed this out and they read the invoice that was attached to the bag they were handing me and realized it was wrong. They asked for me to come back in an hour so they could fix it. Two hours later I returned to the store and the poster still wasn't done. They said the machine had messed up, which I understand happens, but it still left me stressed as this was something for work. They asked me to come back later to which i asked them to call me when it was done because I was fed up dragging my toddler in and out of the store for nothing. Finally the next day it was ready, when i picked up the quality was horrible. The poster was grainy and the lamination on the back was puckering. I didn't have time for it to be redone because my event was that evening, but if they'd processed my order correctly in the first place I wouldn't have been under such a time constraint. Unwisely I decided to give them a second chance printing a busy book I'd purchased on etsy. A few hours after submitting the order I logged on to check the status to find it had been cancelled. I called to find out why and they need a paper (which i have from the seller) but instead of contacting me they just cancelled without an email or phone call. If I hadn't logged on to check i wouldn't have even know. On the phone the photo staff member was extremely rude. I will not make the mistake of giving this location my business again.

On the plus side, they had most of what I was looking for. Checking out we waited patiently behind a customer who presented an item Staples evidently did not have in its system. Two or three people got in line behind us. A manager had to be called to resolve the issue with the customer ahead of us. The cashier told us to come over to another register. The customer behind us raced over to the register before we could get there to butt in line just like in grade school. Very RUDE woman! The cashier did not say anything but let her get away with it. It'll be a long time before I go back to Staples.

I do business as Jerry's Custom Painting. I wanted newer business cards that deleted information off of my old cards, ( simple process ). I specifically told employee that my original art work would come through the E mail as green copy but I wanted teal copy. Teal, black and white are my company logos colors. I gave the tech an old card to color match. When I was E mailed a proof the new cards were teal copy. When I went to pick up the cards, the copy was a dark green ( not what I ordered, wanted or approved ). Original cost was $14.99 plus tax $16 and change, when I picked up the cards, price was $20 and change. $4 is not the point, a 40% difference in price is. If I quote a customer $2000.00 for a paint job, I don't get to charge them $2800.00 when I'm finished. If my customer wants their house painted white, I don't get to do a color change and paint it yellow. I'm just glad that as a small business owner, I do not do business the way that Staples does business. I accepted the cards because it's cheaper in my time and gas to not have to make another trip to Staples and after this experience, I can assure everyone that I will NEVER make another trip to Staples.
