They’ve increased the prices pretty significantly, but it’s still one of my favorite places to go. The chili and burgers are fantastic and fries perfect crispness in an old “hole in the wall” that has been preserved for a step back to a simpler time. The community tables lead to fun conversations with strangers or a booth tucked out of the way. Love the trains circling up top. I’ve been going there for 30 years and is a must stop whenever I’m home

I've known about this place for a while, but the pandemic restrictions prevented me from making the trek down here from Columbus until today. I had high expectations after finding out about their winning number one burger in Ohio by Food & Wine magazine. Well, the positive was the atmosphere as it reminded me of a dark Medieval English pub. The hamburger was good. Not extraordinary or earth-shattering, but good. Reminded me of a beefier Quarter Pounder with Cheese. I liked it. The onion rings were pretty good too. Nice and crunchy. Chili was smooth and just a bit of kick. The negatives were the cost (Pricey for a burger and onion rings : $16) and the meager amount of onion rings served for my $16. By the way, I got the single with metta. Now, would I come back? Since it didn't knock my socks off on taste and cost, I'm not sure?? Unfortunately, despite being ranked number one in Ohio, there are too many competitors vying for a number one spot to try before I can make that final decision. We will see. Thanks

We recently moved to Cincinnati and have had so many people tell us to go to Zip's for the best greasy burger around. We finally went and it did not disappoint! We sat at the bar and the bartender, you could tell, has been working there for a long time. He welcomed us to Cincinnati and answered any questions we had. We ordered some beers, I got a Zip burger, my fiancé got a double zip burger, and we shared an order of fries. Everything was incredible!! The double burger was so big that my fiancé struggled to finish it, and he can eat! They don't mess around when they say double burger. The regular, single patty burger was definitely enough for me. We had a great experience with great burger and we will definitely return!

A Cincinnati classic in Mt. Lookout on the square. Famous for their burgers, chili, and, of course, the train. Nice little bar tucked away. Be patient, as seating is limited but your patience will be rewarded.

Questions & Answers

Lived in Cincy years ago. Was this the burger joint with the toy trains that ran around the wall?
