The last two times my child has used the splash pad he has gotten sick. It was so bad the first time that I waited over a year before trying it again. And that night he got sick. Not around other kids. All by himself. No school. No one else is sick. Also, I don’t think everyone there is fully trained. I ask the front desk questions and get half the answer. The next time I go I find out the rest and was unable to participate.

My Home away from Home!!! Keeps me mentally, emotionally, & physically healthy. The staff, the members, I consider them extended family. I enjoy it all from silver sneakers, water aerobics, group classes, (yoga, body pump, spin, Pilates, Zumba) the total package!!! I Love My YMCA…💞

I was one of the oldest members (13 plus years averaging 3 to 4 times a week) for this site, and I have seen them grow, and change personnel, throughout those years. Even though they have several pluses (e.g. friendly staff, great gym with new equipment, pool & water park) at the end they lacked the personal connection you expect from a place you made your relaxation site. Last year, when it came time for me to renew my membership, I got no interest from their side for me to renew. No communication, no phone call, etc. Those actions demonstrated that they took my account for granted, and that it did not require any effort from their side to retain a loyal customer. It was disappointing to notice that they care more for publicity than to keep their long-time loyal customers. Sorry to have parted ways.

My wife and I are so very new to the Hernando County YMCA, only one week. We're very amazed at the friendliness of all employees to all customers. We love the pool, I love the exercise room with so many machines that are practically new and the weights also. The daycare center is a wonderful assistance to parents who want to workout out swim.We hope to soon take advantage of other offerings available.

Yes
We typically don't recommend our youth under 15 in the free weight area, but any youth ages 10-15 must go through their three wellness sessions with a trainer to ensure that they are properly utilizing any equipment.
Unfortunately no.
We do accept Silver Sneakers. Humana is an insurance company that does have SS as a benefit of some of their insurance plans. We would have to verify information through the online system with the company that coordinates it all with the insurance companies. It is a very easy verification process if you don't have your SS card.
No
I'm sorry Tamara I've been out sick out been for 2 weeks I go back today I can find out for you. Or you can call up there May God Bless you stay safe. Dianna
Hi Karen--Yes. Our morning water exercise classes are geared towards all levels of activity, including those with arthritis.
Hi Arora-- Thanks for asking. We have a pricing plan set up that is based on individual/family type memberships. We would recommend calling or coming into the branch if you haven't been in for a tour to find out the cost for what you are looking for. Right now we are running a promo where we waive the activation fee of up to $100, through August 12th, if you bring in a bag of school supplies. Thanks!
There is a specialty camp with unique activities and there are camps that go on weekly trips and swimming. The before and after school camp is different than the camp at the branch camp.
Is basketball courts inside
If you have an older calendar. Like Sept for example month to month classes don't usual change.
There is a lift they don't have a ramp
We have various yoga classes throughout the week, Monday-Saturday. If you visit our website at www.ymcasuncoast.org and click on schedules, then you can choose Hernando County and you will be able to see our daily schedule of classes.
We do have lessons for adults. If you call the Y, you can ask for our aquatics department and get all the info on either group or private lessons.
We have a number of classes in the morning Monday-Saturday and one evening class that meets twice a week.
Hi Gail--During the week, the pool closes at 9pm. On Saturday is closes at 5:30pm and on Sunday it closes at 5pm.
We do not offer massage therapy at our YMCA location. Some YMCAs do offer it depending on where you are at.
Unless it is a service dog, we are a no pets facility for our building and programs.
Hi Rosemary--So members like to use the shallow wells to walk back and forth in the water. They may not be "swimmers" per se and just want some general exercise that is easy on the joints. It is like walking laps but in the water.
No boxing ring.
The use of the pool is included with the monthly membership fee. Depending on the type of membership that you set up would determine the monthly fee as well as if there are any subsidies applied to the monthly fee.
Not sure.call the Y ,they will give you different options
You would have to check with your insurance provider to see if that is a qualifying expense/purchase for you.
We are open 7am-6pm on Saturdays and 11am-5pm on Sundays.
We do have water exercises on our schedule now, yes. If you visit our website at www.ymcasuncoast.org and click on Hernando as the location then you can view the schedule.
We do not at our location. Our James P. Gills YMCA does have a rock wall.
We are continually working on updates as classes fill, we have a waiting list, room availability and instructor availability. Our goal is to do another update in a couple of weeks.
Should be able to as long as your Ohio y is part of National y organization.
We are open 5am-3pm today.
Hi Darian— Access to our pool is part of our monthly membership fee. Depending on what type of membership you are looking for as well as some other potential factors, like place of employment, would determine what that fee would be. We recommend coming in to check it out and find out all the info. Our pool is year-round and is heated to a range of 84-86 degrees.
We have a variety of activities that include swim lessons, toddler/preschool classes, play group and more. Please come in for a tour of the facility and information on all of the programs and services we have for families.
We do not have steam rooms at our location. Not sure of the Tampa Ys but the only Suncoast Y that has them is our Clearwater branch.
We have positions like lifeguard or some positions that work with youth. You can see the listing of open positions on our website www.ymcasuncoast.org.
It was down today due to flooding of the pit area from the storm yesterday. The water kept the system from operating properly. We are hoping to have everything back up tomorrow once the water level goes down. We do turn it off though when no kids are around the utilize as to provide a break to the features from running non-stop.
There is an additional charge for lessons but as a member, you receive a discounted rate for program fees.
Lots of different levels of pay. A lot has to do with your income. I do know they have a sale going tight now
Unfortunately Silver Sneakers doesn't allow other members to use cards. We could issue a guest pass for her or we could do a short-term membership if three guest days is not enough.
We do have 4-week sessions that meet throughout the year. You can visit our website at www.ymcasuncoast.org/hernando to search for upcoming programs/classes or call the branch and our aquatics director can email over the schedule for the year.
Hi Charlie--- It depends on what type of membership you are looking to start and if there are any available subsidies, like Corporate Partners, that would be applicable. The easiest thing would be to come into the branch so we can talk about what you are looking for and what might be available.
We have various membership packages depending on individual or family membership as well as several subsidies like Corporate Partner that could apply. If you stop by the Y, we can get you all the information.
Our pool closes 1/2 hour before the facility closes. During the week, the pool closes at 9:30pm and on the weekend it closes at 5:30pm.
Mainly for sporting activities. ...they do serve coffee and tea.
I am sorry they do not.
I'm an employee at the Y come on down and check us out you get three free trial days. We have the most group exercise classes in the county. Group exercises a great way to keep up with your goals.
No I dont think there is one
Yes—we do. Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons is when the groups play. :)
You have to be a member to use their facilities
Hi there! We do not have an indoor pool. We do have a bubble that we do put up if the overall winter looks like it is going to be a cold one throughout the days.
We strive keep our pool temp in a range of 84-86 degrees to be conducive for all activities that occur in the pool.
HI Juan--During the week our pool is open from 5:30am-9:30pm. Saturday we are open 7am-6pm and Sunday 12-6pm. We would recommend checking the schedule online to verify times for activities that you are interested in.
Kathy, you can call them. They will give you the information.
They do, $80. If not a member, $50. For members. Only 8 classes right now, 2 x a week for 1/2 hour each. Sorry, don't reccomend them. Poor instructors. They learn thr sane thing week after week. My son did better with his first session, now he is on his third and no improvement, regression I would say due to really poor instruction.
Not that I'm aware of but they do offers YMCA at schools and could offer a backpack program.
Yes you can just go to front desk and they will help you
Yes they do a great play room and a wonderful staff well traind professional teams if i was a kid i would like❤ the team nice play ground always supervisors with the kids👶.
I am not sure you can call and find out, they will know better
Yes
I think they do but I'm not a hundred percent sure you might want to give them a call their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the services
Yes and all lifeguards are trained in cpr.and first aid have a great summer🌞🌴🏄🎇
Your best bet is to stop by and ask at the front desk. A manager can tell you if the are hiring and give you an application to fill out. I suggest if you are intetested in getting a job anywhare that you GO in PERSON so they can see you are interested enough to make the effort to actually go there. Just a suggestion. Of course you can always call them, its your choice. Good luck!
It's usually not super busy in the evening but you will get some games in at decent hours. Likely some events too.
. But if you've got kids it doesn't matter how many kids you have it'll be the same price for you and the kids. For example if it's you and one kid around 60 to $70. If it's you and five kids the price will be the same
For one person its $46 a month..and yes you can apply for a reduced fee.,.,,
Silver sneakers is an exercise and wellness program for the elderly and disabled population on Medicare. At the ymca, silver sneakers classes are usually low impact and more geared for the elderly.
Some health insurances pay for membership
9 to 11 I believe
This is a very nice YMCA, has many different classes for all age types. Not sure about gymnastics classes. I would give them a call.
Weight Watchers meets here I think it's Tuesday mornings 8:30
Yes they do please call them for info
They do have Zumba all kinds of Zumba on a variety of nights. However you do have to be a member to use the facilities for any reason.
There aren't any volleyball courts there that I am aware of. You should try the Veterans Memorial Park, or Deltona Woods Park for open Volleyball courts.
Ball fields are open for members when they aren't scheduled for use, but must be rented out for team activities. Asked the front desk today.
Yes they are still there. We just signed our son up amd the school is amazing
