Same song and dance as everyone else. Automated everything....what happened to real customer service. I guess because we are at their mercy, we get treated like 3rd rate citizens.

Worst place EVER! They constantly mess up on my children's medicaid and my food stamps. My newborn daughter couldn't even be seen by a doctor for 2½months because DCF messed up when it came to her medical. They are saying that I don't cooperate with child support so they are denying me of my food assistance when all I do is cooperate with child support on everything. Unprepared, unprofessional and do not know how to do their jobs right. Sad sad sad! Zero stars if I could.

My experience with this department is quite unprofessional and disappointing. They never answer my calls or call me back. If I could give DCF Hernando zero stars I would.

Completely disappointed in the DCF HERNANDO COUNTY DEPT. After my daughter filed a complaint only wanting justice and protection, case was closed immediately! Not even speaking to her to hear what she went through, they closed the case! After finally speaking to someone at the dept, a one time complaint isn't enough to investigate further into it. They have to come out 3 times! Seriously, one time is one time too many! Completely unacceptable! It takes a lot of courage for a child to speak out..thanks for dropping the ball!

You have to go in. They are so busy now that the system is overloaded.

Go To the nearest Department(DCF) and Apply for public assistance. Housing has to be done by a Different agency but the Department maybe able to refer her to the right agency.

I have been calling for a few days to speak to a representative about a case I'm involved with as a licensed mental health counselor but I cannot get anyone to answer the phone. The recording keeps playing over and over.

The office has been closed since Tuesday morning through Thursday due to the hurricane.
