Pre-arranging a dedicated space for your truck – as close as possible to the access point where our movers will be working – usually represents a significant saving in terms of time and cost. We, therefore, encourage all customers to apply for a moving parking permit from your local city hall (or multiple ones for different locations). Different cities have different permit guidelines/costs which can usually be found online. Prior to moving day, the city will post temporary ‘No Parking’ signs at your desired location, reserving adequate space for your moving truck (about 3 car lengths) as close as possible to your preferred loading/unloading points. As a result, time and cost are kept to an absolute minimum.

If time/budget is your main priority, then pre-packing small, loose miscellaneous items by yourself is recommended to minimize your moving costs for a local moving (time and packing materials). If convenience is your main priority, then the crew will be happy to provide a full packing service for the smaller items (kitchen, artwork, books, personal items, etc.), and your truck will be stocked accordingly with all required packing materials (reusable and non-reusable).

You can decrease the moving time by packing your items in advance and having the boxes organized and ready to go. Relocation time is also affected by the distance between the pickup site and final destination, walking distance between the front door and truck parking, size of the crew, traffic conditions, extra packing services for the smaller items, furniture assembly/disassembly, etc.

In terms of protecting your furniture and larger items, we bring unlimited shrink wrap, packing tape, moving blankets, TV boxes, and wardrobe boxes - all free of charge (for the duration of the move). We wrap all upholstered furniture parts in plastic wrap. This clingy, tear-resistant material protects furniture and other items while in transit. It’s also a great way to keep furniture clean and stay together (mattresses, sofa, dressers, etc.). Another protective covering often used when moving furniture are moving blankets. These blankets are thick and will protect not only your furniture when moving but your walls and floor as well. Our moving trucks are fully equipped with all packing supplies and moving equipment to protect and relocate your belongings safely: dollies, straps, moving blankets, bubble wrap, plastic wrap, tools, and much more.

In line with industry regulations and also our Worker's Compensation requirements, moving crews must refrain from disconnecting/connecting household appliances for health & safety reasons - a qualified technician is advised to disconnect washers, dryers, and cookers in advance of the move. In the case of wall-mounted TVs, we are happy to assist with removal at the pick-up address. At the destination address, crews are not permitted to drill walls for any purpose in case hidden electrical wires are present. Again, a qualified technician, electrician, plumber, or handyman is suggested for all these specialized tasks.
