Owners are good people, and attentive to there customer's, and are working diligently remodeling and keeping the property safe for there customer's. Hotel has weekly rates and works with local charities to provide shelter for those on need off emergency shelter.

All things considered it wasn't bad. Lots of water pressure, hot hot water, but best of all NO BUGS of any kind. Bed was comfortable, sheets were clean. Actually only downside was no coffee pot or microwave. Very quiet too. Will definitely go there again!

Since moving here to Ohio n being in Licking county Ohio I've stayed at 2 motels which are the cheapest in the area. The 1st was in Buckeye Lake right off of highway 70 and Oh-79/Hebron Road. It's called Buckeye Lake motel/Inn and we paid for a Week. It was $300 for the week. 1st room that we were put in the heat didn't work. Was told it was one of the newest rooms worked on. Then got moved into another room & I'll tell you what. . These place was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING with cockroaches!! Had a McDonald's iced coffee that I sat down on nightstand and 15 minutes later reached over to get a drink n I about screamed! It was literally COVERED in cockroaches!!! NEVER AGAIN!! Now onto Newark budget Inn. We've been staying here since January 11, 2021 and haven't seen a single cockroach after being here for a little over a month!! 1st week here we paid $280, then $270, and every week since $260. They only accept cash but that's okay! It's a foreign couple that runs the motel and whom took it over I think 3 or 4yrs ago but dont quote me on that. Lol Since taking it over they have done nothing but try n improve the motel! They wont put up with people that are drug addicts, drunks, or people that are just loud, obnoxious, or full of problems. They tell you from the get go that you aren't allowed to have visitors over in your room and that you have to keep it down. Its called respect for others and them. Like I said it's a husband and wife team that owns it and they work on keeping up on this place together. They personally clean the rooms. They she cleans them while he usually vacuums them. They also insist on your sheets being changed once a week. The rooms get cleaned 2 to 4xs a week. It doesn't matter if you're staying a Week, a day, or a few days..the rooms get cleaned which I think is Fantastic!! When we stayed in Buckeye lake for that week they didn't insist on cleaning our room along with changing the sheets or the towels. We had to ask for new towels. They asked then if we wanted our room cleaned n we said no. We regularly pick up after ourselves n have bought trash bags for both motel rooms. We dont believe in having our room a mess as it's very disrespectful. But here at Newark budget Inn they insist on coming in and cleaning toilet and tub n vacuuming and even ask about 3xs a week if you need towels n if you do then you leave them outside your room and then they come by and give you new towels. They do this with everyone! They are open 24/7 and are such nice ,respectful, and cheerful people!! I've heard from my man n others how this motel used to be such a dump with nothing but drug addicts, drunks, people always arguing etc here. But now 98% of the time its sooo quiet n peaceful! The only time it's not is when someone is being a troublemaker and not following the rules here. When you dont follow the rules by having people over, drugs, etc etc you get kicked out and they have every right to kick you out as they tell you before you get your room key that you're not allowed people in your room, no drugs etc etc. They are also working on the place room by room doing upgrades! Oh also free cable tv, wif and a fridge in your room!

I could definitely tell that it is under new ownership. It was clean, neat, quiet, had updated TV's, cable, microwaves and refrigerators. The owners were not just courteous but very friendly. They made us feel very welcome and actually looking forward to the next time we stay.
