Less than one star for parking lot.....really tight one way parking lot, so if you are visually impaired or disabled I suggest avoiding this branch altogether. Also, the shelves are pretty empty and there's lots of dead, empty space. This is what we waited years for?????

A great new library for Capitola. This area needs it. Library does nothing more than enrich the community around it. The staff was very helpful. I see the library as a media center for it's neighborhood. Thank You

I like the space and librarians were nice to me. Not many books available physically yet, but many more online or by request. Many nice services and spaces, even outside!

From time to time, librarians forget their job (in this branch and other branches as well). Santa Cruz public libraries are for the public, and librarians don't have the authority to stop people from using just because they are not in the mood for it. I reject any "recommendations" from librarians about what the library is for and what it is not for. If I want to be in the library and read the newspaper, I'll sit in the library and read a newspaper. If I want to use the printer, I'll use the printer. I understand that sometimes people are crossing borders, and librarians also have to be wardens from time to time. Yet, no one is doing anyone a favor. If you work at the library, you need to do your job, and not annoy people who use the library, even if you don't like them doing their homework at the library. The Capitola branch has excellent facilities, but if the human quality is low, maybe we should close the library and change its purpose to something the public can really enjoy.

We are currently not accepting donations at any of the branch libraries, and won't be for a while. The Friends of the Capitola Library are taking donations at their mall store location. You can call them after 1pm at 854-7650 or check the FCL website. https://capitolalibraryfriends.org/

Thanks for letting us know about the great service you received. Our Capitola staff are deployed to other branches and activities while the branch is closed for construction. I don't believe we have a staff member by that name at this time.
