Update: They now have mask station at the entrance. Great facility with great equipments and everything but, but they have a mask requirement for all other people when their own student staff walk around with the masks down. Also they don't have mask station over here as well.

This place is great. They used to offer memberships to the public, hopefully they resume that policy soon. They have many squat racks, plenty of bench presses, plenty of cardio machines, several excellent pools, an indoor running track, and a climbing wall. The staff who work the front desk are students and only vaguely familiar with anything outside of their immediate job duties, but that's okay. The facility is excellent! It's great to have a climbing wall, climbing walls are pretty unusual for a gym. Love it!

In A Nutshell: -The brand-new $130 million Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center is awesome! -The community waited for about 2 years for this place to open & it finally did right before summer 2019. -There are 3 swimming pools, which includes a 15 lane lap pool, plus diving board, a kiddie/lounge pool area & a pool w/ 4 lane lap pool plus open water swim area. -You don't feel cramped & there's a lot of room w/ plenty of outdoor sunshine. -The locker room has lockers, but I think they are reserved for the students, so just use the locker room to change & use the bathroom. -I like the expensive $10 day pass or $60 monthly (plus you need to commit to a year) which weeds out people so it doesn't get crowded. Overall, this will be my new go-to place to swim countless laps, while getting a nice tan since it's all outdoor!

I played basketball last weekend here. The new floor is amazing! I bought a day pass which is 15$. The pass should give you full access of the facility including working out equipment, pool and basketball courts. The place is big and the air doesn't smell so sweaty as other gyms I've been to. The day pass is a little much for me since I only play basketball for 2 hours... It might be a good bargain for people with a lot energy. There's parking near the facility, but the space is very limited. Street parking might be needed.. but be careful of the restrictions!

Yes Use the free lockers but remember to bring your own lock. and don't leave anything in there overnight that you want to keep cuz supposedly they cut the locks off the day use lockers that people overlook.
Currently we only offer memberships to SJSU students, faculty and staff.
No, it's for SJSU students only
This summer, the SRAC and the pools are only open to SJSU students, faculty and staff in accordance with the SJSU Adapt Plan. We look forward to welcoming SRAC alumni and community members back in the future.

As long as you pay the entry, you have access to whatever you want in the complex, so yeah
