For women or people who can become victims, this station is fine during the day but feels less safe during the early mornings and nights. There's a lot of men lurking ,they're not waiting for a bus/train, that make me wary. There is no security to protect you. Be sure to bring pepper spray or an alarm. Share your location with someone. Keep your headphones low/off. Be aware of your surroundings. Stay in the light. Most bus drivers (male & female) are kind and safe but there's like 5% male bus drivers that are definitely dangerous or others that are just creepy. If you need help, you can go to a bus driver but just be careful. This is my experience, my friends and another past bus driver's experience. That says a lot. For first time riders, there is a red ticket machine where you can get a paper ticket. It goes by zones. If you don't know what to get, click more information or help. It'll list the zones. You can also use the caltrain app to buy a digital ticket. To find the train times, Google caltrain schedule and click the weekday/weekend timetable. FYI There is only 3 trains in the early morning and early evening that go from Gilroy to SF, vice versa. Sit in the first few train carts where the Conducter walks frequently. It feels safer. I also find the bike cart makes me feel safe too.

Ok station with a small coffee shop for early commuter. Staff in the store is friendly and plenty of food for breakfast or snacks. No bathroom and kind of dirty at times. I'v also seen to many drunks seating around in the afternoon.

Probably online. During the pandemic the Gilroy center has been closed and I doubt you'd want to drive to San Jose. If you have a smart phone you should be able to show the conductor your ticket

Is there a train leaving Gilroy transit center on weekends?

The train doesn't run on the weekends. Unless, there are special events.
