Amazing place for walking, silent, fresh water, river flow and birds around there makes it perfect place to take breath and fight stress.

Went on an easy hike with a friend this afternoon. It’s a nice park because it links up to two other parks actually. So if you finish this trail you can try to explore several others in the adjacent parks. I saw family riding their bikes, dog walkers, runners, and regular walkers like myself. The paved trail does have some unpaved paths as well but I didn’t explore them personally. If you are looking for a peaceful water feature walk please check out this park! I’ve been twice so far and it’s been great.

It's a long trail. There are lots of places to park and very accessible. Small though. Depends on day/time. Any one you come across - start there!

My Wife and I are moving not too far from here. I really want to get back on my bike and do some serious riding on the paved trails. I looked at the photos but I wanted to know where the starting and ending point of theses trails?

Ralph, it is hard to say since I don't know the site of your future home. But, the Sligo Creek Trail system connect to the Wheaton Regional Park trails going north, and to the Northwest branch and on a Anacostia River Trail system going south. The ones going south, are extensive and will lead you to further Trails, and into downtown DC, Nationals Park, the Southwest Waterfront, Georgetown, and even into Virginia. Going south, into Prince Georges County, there are many trails in the Anacostia River watershed.

Can you picnic here
