The First Baptist Church of Pasadena is a beautiful historical structure. The facilities and grounds look very well taken care of. The Sanctuary is gorgeous, it's close to City hall and within walking distance of many hotels in the Old Town area of Pasadena.

This is a wonderfully warm and kind place to pray, worship or even just to stop in and have a chat with any of the Pastoral Staff or other staff, volunteers or even other guests. The people are genuinely warm, caring and even open to anyone that walks through their front doors. They all seem like they want to get to know you and even help you if needed. I have been to many churches, Catholic, Methodist, Church of Christ, and even a Latter Day Saints churches for worship, most of which I tried at least three times before I made my decision to try another. I must say that most churches say that they welcome everyone as they are and once you start to get to know them, they start trying to change you into their idea of who they think you should be. FBC Pasadena is NOT that way, they accepted me and even allowed me to volunteer and assist in other ways when I was homeless. They have accepted me no matter how broken or crazy I might seem. In fact they even gave me a part-time job to assist in my Social Security and have always treated me as family (not the kind of family you dread seeing at Christmas, BUT like the family that cares for, looks after, and tends to the needs of each other. I have been going to this church weekly, sometimes bi-weekly for about six to seven years now; I have worked part-time for them for little over a year also; and throughout all of this time I have felt cared for, loved and even worried about. Even when I got into a little trouble with the law for beating up someone I had lived with, I NEVER felt judged or ridiculed by any of the church members. They are truly GOD's people practicing it the way that JESUS wants them to while accepting all souls NO MATTER race, color, creed, ethnicity, background, employed or not, homeless or not and NO MATTER how broken you are, they always try to make a place for you and make you feel good about yourself.

This church is wonderful it is very diverse and open. It is the nicest church I have ever been to. It is very big and open. It has a big indoor basketball court. It also has a mini park in the back of it. It has a Youth ministries and Kids ministries. If you are knew to Pasadena this is a great church.

Questions & Answers

Did anyone find a pair of glasses in the sanctuary after the wedding yesterday, March 17. I was in the middle section about 1/3 of the way back.

I am Mark the Sunday Bldg. Attendant, I place all items left behind in the church office with an attached note of when and where I found item; and then items are placed inside of one of the two drawers that are to the left, beneath the widow as you enter the office. You are more than welcome to come in any Monday - Thursday 9am thru 3pm which are office hours of operation, or pull me aside on Sunday to ask me. I hope this helped and if not, just let me kn ow how I may further help on Sunday morning when I am there.

gate opens at 9am Sunday morning for bible study; doors open at 9:30am to join us for coffee and conversation: at 10:00am we have a team meeting and prayer in church narthex and service starts at 10:30am in the sanctuary where everyone [no matter their affiliations, sexual preferences, homeless or not homeless, even people like me who are a little odd and have mental health issues and even under went a period of homelessness] are welcomed. After attending for 4 years And volunteering in service for 3 years I was in need of a little extra income to go with my social security and was given a part-time job here as a building attendant. I truly enjoy the people here and the Pastorial Staff here are very genuine, nice, giving, patient and good people. as a person with no family, I have accepted this congregation and it's members as my family, which they prove weekly through their kindness, generosity and daily display of love and concern they show me.

Which day are you inquiring about? Because on all but the first Sunday of each month the children's classes and nursery areas are open from 9am until after service and then the Youth Group (Middle School and up) have lunch and conversation with Pastor Linday, Gavin and other Youth Support Staff & Volunteers. On occasion there are outside functions or sometimes in house functions that have varied schedules on different days. As always you can contact any of the church Staff and if we don't know the answer all of us are more than willing to help you track down the answer you need.

Do you all have an evening service on Sunday?

Hey Grace. Thanks for reaching out. We sometimes have smaller gatherings and groups on Sunday evenings, but not a standing service each week. Our main worship service is at 10:30am on Sundays.
