I have had a membership at Massage Envy for 6 years now and I can definitively say that my experience at Seal Beach was by far my worst of any location I have been to. I prefer "deep pressure" for my massages so when I was booking online I selected this option and scheduled a 90 minute massage with a therapist, Michelle, who was listed as being able to perform "all pressures". As I was pulling into the parking lot 3 minutes prior to my appointment time, I received a call from the receptionist stating that Michelle was not able to perform deep pressure due to a recent injury. If I had been notified this at a reasonable time (not 3 minutes prior to my appointment) I would have simply rescheduled but because I was already in the parking lot I decided to keep my current appointment. The receptionist apologized for the late notice and said that she was "swamped" because she was the only person working but she must have forgotten that I was about to walk in the door because upon entering I saw that they had at least two receptionists and a manager in the front office. I wish I could say this was the end of my bad experience at this location but unfortunately it is not... The receptionist had reassured me that even though Michelle was unable to perform deep pressure she would still be able to do medium/firm however throughout my appointment the most that she was able to do was light/medium. Unfortunately, the pressure quality was only the beginning of my bad experience with Michelle as a therapist. Michelle also had very long fingernails which would scratch against my skin and along with the incredibly light pressure led to a very uncomfortable massage. It is not uncommon for therapists at Massage Envy to use hot towels during the massage but in my experience at other locations they will warn you before they do so and then check to make sure the temperature is okay before applying any pressure to the towel...but not Michelle...without warning she would slap a hot towel onto my skin and immediately push down onto it without checking in on me first. She did this repeatedly throughout the massage on my back, legs, feet, chest, and neck. Next, about 60 minutes into my massage Michelle tells me that she will "be right back" and leaves me in the room alone for at least 5 minutes. Due to the lack of pressure I already felt as though I was getting limited therapeutic benefit from this massage so at the very least I would expect to be treated for the entire duration of my appointment rather than be left alone in the room for an extended period of time like that. Finally, in my past experience at other Massage Envy locations the therapists always waited outside the room to give you water and walk you to the front desk. However this time, when my massage ended Michelle left me to navigate myself through the halls back to the front desk. While that usually would not be a big deal, in combination with the rest of my experience with Michelle it just proved a total lack of professionalism that I am not used to from Massage Envy. I will not be back and would highly encourage anybody that is looking for a high quality and professional experience to search elsewhere.

Booked a 90 min massage today at 10:45am. Filled out the covid form online before my appointment and when booking they ask you to arrive 15 mins early to check in and get your temperature checked which is completely understandable. What is not acceptable is that I’m informed 11 mins before my appointment that my massage is canceled. If your going to ask a customer to give you enough respect to show up early and keep your business running in a timely manner then you should also give them enough respect and inform them in a timely manner before they already make the drive to your facility. With gas prices as high as ever no one wants to waste a drive. They did offer to have me come back at 2pm however that’s way too late as I was already there. They didn’t even offer any compensation for wasting my time or energy. This was going to be my second time coming to this location and after my first visit I was already hesitant to give them another try. The first massage went well, however the negative experience was when it was done and I went out front to pay. As the cashier was taking my payment another employee I’m assuming the manager or owner tried to pressure me to signing up to a monthly program and when I respectfully declined she started to ask me “Don’t you care about your health?” She came off very pushy which is the last thing you want to deal with after just getting a massage. I’m very disappointed in how this all turned out and due to two negative experiences I don’t see myself coming here again.

I was look for somewhere that was open during this time of pandemic and closures. I called and they booked me for the next day. Everyone was kind and courteous and very professional. I love getting massages and I would rank the one that my therapist, Titi gave me among the best. I'm a teacher and I have been spending long hours sitting and looking at a computer screen, so my whole backside from my shoulders to my glutes are all tense and tight. I told her this and she worked the tension out of my muscles. I definitely would highly recommend her and this facility. I will be back!

I’ve been a member of Massage Envy for 7 months now and I’m extremely happy! Charmaine is my esthetician and she is excellent! She has really helped to improve my skin and has given me great advice as to what products would help my skin. Jennifer at the front desk is always so warm and friendly. She will go above and beyond to accommodate me with future appointments. I always look forward to my facial appointments!
