Just started my garden. New soil, new garden beds, etc. EVERY SINGLE PLANT was infected that I bought here. 20 plants immediately started loosing leaves after coming home with me. Three had huge aphid infestations that became known after they bloomed. I have to completely tear out, treat, and replant. Costing me thousands of dollars. New to Vancouver and this was my first try at a plant shop in the area. Will never go back here. Oh - the staff were extremely rude and unknowledgeable too, but plant health is the driver for this review.

Local nursery that is close to my house. It used to be locally owned, kind of disappointing that it was acquired by Dennis' 7 Dees. With that said, it has maintained the same local feel. I really enjoy the variety of hpuse plants they have in the building out back. Decent variety and friendly staff.

Still great after it changed from Shorty's. Great supply of healthy plants. The gift shop is now mostly indoor plants and I think that is new.

We love Shorty's! Every time we're there we get the best help and guidance from the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Plant and tree quality have always been high quality. And, to our pleasant surprise, on this latest visit, we learned that every Tuesday is Seniors Tuesday. If you are a senior, you'll receive a 10% discount on your entire purchase! Not a bad deal for those of us getting older (but better). 😄

I've seen them there before but calling directly may be the best suggestion
They might give them a call and ask but I know H H wood recyclers will accept them. They usually have low prices recycling Christmas trees
You can check their stock on their website, or call them. They're very helpful!
Yes, we do! You can find our inventory here: https://shop.shortysgardencenter.com/subdept/131/strawberries
Hi Jackie, we currently have these choices: https://shop.shortysgardencenter.com/inventory/search?q=hibiscus but I would call the store directly to double-check, as we are always getting new product delivered. :-)
Our garden center is open for in-store shopping with enhanced safety measures in place, including a limited contact checkout experience, increased cleaning procedures, and social distancing. Plus, you can shop some of your favorite plants and products for curbside pickup or delivery at our online store (http://shop.shortysgardencenter.com). Please read the following before visiting us in person: - All customers and employees are asked to maintain 6 feet of physical distance at all times. - All customers and employees must wear face coverings. - Please limit the number of people in your party to two while shopping, and leave your pets and kiddos at home, if possible. Thank you for your support and for helping us create a safe shopping environment!
Hi Vicki, we have a few options available and you can see them all here: https://shop.shortysgardencenter.com/inventory/search?q=arborvitae Thank you!
Hi Jeff, we don’t currently carry hypertufa pots, but we do have other great pottery options for succulents. :-) You can check our selection online here as well: https://shop.shortysgardencenter.com/subdept/81/indoor-containers
Hi Ronna, most people grow coleus as annuals in our climate, but they can be overwintered fairly easily indoors. If it’s already suffered a hard frost it is most likely too late at this point, but if it still looks viable, try the following: Transplant to a suitable container for bringing in the house. Transition in an unheated garage or shed for a few days prior to bringing it in the house. Place in a south-facing window for the most light during winter months and water sparingly. Coleus prefer to be on the dryer side and can easily suffer root rot if kept too moist. :-)
