Safeway, like it’s other giant conglomerate counterparts, has obscenely high prices compared to a local, employee owned chain. I want to like this store for the convenience but after living in the neighborhood for more than 16 years, not much has changed. They get an extra star for good employees and a meat/seafood counter that employs helpful and knowledgeable employees.

Consistently bad experience at this place, and they continue to employ a woman who was racist and confrontational with a customer. That incident is known to management with no action taken. Today my cashier (90% certain his name was Daniel) bagged the grapes first with a bottle of kombucha and citrus piled on top -- an elementary schooler knows better. They also refused to take a Bottledrop voucher because it was over a week old (printed on the voucher is the phrase "This voucher does not expire.") Not sure if they're incompetent or illiterate, but based on today I'd guess both. Avoid at all costs and take your business elsewhere.

Love this store. I grew up in the neighborhood and haven't lived in the area for many many years. Store is prettyuch the same. Always clean, always amazing friendly staff. Can't say enough great things about this location and it's employees.

Had everything I was looking for except the Ben &Jerry's ice-cream I was after...(milk and cookies) which is the only ice-cream I can find that has cooked cookies in it, not raw cookie dough...besides almost always being out of stock on this specific ice-cream, they always have what I'm shopping for. Very friendly service and well managed store..when I see a Safeway I think, "professional #1 grocery store"...definitely my first choice if I can afford it..but Fred Myers is still cheaper and of course Winco is the winner of cheap prices..you just don't get the best customer service with them..or the top quality that Safeway has.

They have a bottle return still because there isnt a bottle drop close by. Last time I looked the bottle return was still there that was a few weeks ago
All employees wear mask and try to maintain social distancing. They have marked asiles one way so customers do not have to pass each in narrow isles. Customers will be approached if not wearing a mask.
You have to download the app and sign up with your phone number and add coupons and then you use your phone number at checkout and the coupon will automatically be applied
I'm not sure, I never use them. I use bottle drop.
