I disclosed in my application that my dog was due to be fixed when he turned 12 months old but was not yet neutered. They accepted my application but then turned me away at the door saying they don't adopt out to families with any unneutered/unspayed animals. I don't agree with the policy, but I'm not mad about it. I am, however, super annoyed that they wasted my time.

Adopted a very sweet rescue dog from the Milo Foundation. The organization is extremely supportive and clearly want the best for people and critters alike; they made sure to outline everything we needed for success and kept their door open for questions and help. Thanks, Milo Foundation!

I have read excess complaints about the interview process and potential adopters being turned away. When you see that many complaints, may want to address the issue. I had no problems adopting my dog. It was from a Milo adoption fair. I have been to Milo for vaccines and noticed people in line to adopt and looking at a book for pet available. I am not familiar with the adoption process at their headquarters. I have seen complaints about the foundation. It’s not a zoo. They rescue animals. They house them as well as they can. They save animals. It’s not a hotel. The pets need to be adopted. YOU create a better home for them. Milo does well with medical services also. I dislike seeing people acting like a shelters conditions should always be ideal. The goal to save pets and find them long term homes, not house them forever. Do you part and support the foundation. Plenty of their animals could have been killed elsewhere. My dog is happy. I’m glad Milo RESCUED him. I had him checked out by 3 vets to make sure he’s healthy. I washed him. No need to criticize the adoption. Find a pet you like, hopefully you could adopt it and make the most of it. My dog was happier at Milo than abandoned. Makes sense.

We adopted a puppy from an adoption event in Albany via the Milo Foundation. My dog is in good health. Milo took care of him medically, which is what I was curious about. I want to save a dog who is in a shelter. Milo covers vaccines also at their facility. I DID not adopt my dog from their physical address. I have never been there. So far everything has been great.

NO! We looked at quite a few dogs there and most were not "fixed". Plus, the dog we were interested in had dental problems that were not addressed & they had no plans to do anything about it. Dogs are expensive to adopt at Milo so you'd expect that these medical conditions would be taken care of or planned for. Dental extractions & care is pricey! Like $2000. So make sure you can afford all of these needs.
I am not sure, but if you gave them a call I'm sure they'll appreciate the offer!
In the street there are so many who would be very grateful
If you want to go inside to see the adoptable animals I believe you do. My daughter recently adopted from them and she had to fill out a form online to get the appointment. If you are just going to donate something, then you don't. You can just knock and they will come out to recieve it. You still have to wear a mask, though.
Yes
We have 4 feral kittens in our back yard with Mom. We would l help in moving them on
If you go to milofoundation.org and click on Adopt a pet (listed down the left side of the page), it will open a search page where you can look for dogs/cats by size/age/breed. Hope this helps.
No, only cats, and dogs, also if lucky, kittens and puppies
They may take them or the will refer you to the county shelter in Pinole. It depends if they have room for them. Better to call first.
THE MILO FOUNDATION was named after an Australian Shepherd. Milo was five weeks old when Lynne Tingle discovered that her puppy was both deaf and blind. Despite concerns from friends and family, Lynne was determined to give Milo a good life.
Just call Milo Foundation. I think you can "foster adopt".
If they have a parent or legal guardian with them, yes
They do take "owner surrenders", just call them and tgew should be able to help you.
A child can volunteer accompanied by an adult. To volunteer alone you must be 14. Also. you must have filled out an application and attended an orientation.
