This park is a go-to for our family any day. There's a playground/water park for the kids, plenty of space to run your dog and lots of lush trees to sit under. Nice wide, paved pathways easy for bike riding, strollers or handicap and benches to sit on along the way. Between being an active young family and/or outdoor ventures with the grandparents, we're at Riverfront weekly.

Probably the most popular park in Salem. Good for walking, running, biking etc. It has a nice playground and the carousel. This park connects to Wallace Marine Park and Minto Brown Park through two walking bridges. The bathrooms are usually kept up. I like to start my runs here and then go into Minto brown and loop back around.

Really cool park and green area. A lot of bees near the green area, but we just ignored them. The walk over the bridge is peaceful and beautiful with the river running under it

Sure can, you can bring your own bbq and grill without a permit. The City of salem is fine with almost anwhere you want to set up. As long as you are RESPECTFUL. I have set up BBQ's near the gilbert house parking lot & even at the public library where the current police station is. With 30+ in attendance. Even after 12am. The police have nevwr given me any problems, in fact they seem to encourage it. Just dont be stupid & clean up after yourselves!!!!

Right now, in the Winter the Carousel is closed, until Spring. Usual hours are Opens daily at 10 am, Saturdays Opens at 11 am.
Ive seen it done as long as you clean up after yourself there is no issue as far as i know .
On private property you must have permission from the owner public land is open. Over the bridge in Minto Brown Park there is some protected areas but in the River Front park you should be fine.
I have the same question too. Is it ok to throw a Bday party there without a permit?
