Worst place ever! There's maybe 8 people waiting before I arrive, still gotta wait over 2 hours. I finally get to a window, only need EBT and GR. I've been homeless for 7 years, I get asked how I eat, I say panhandling and recycling, they ask how much I make, I say about $300 a month...where it goes downhill....they ask "do u make more or less than $300/month, I say no, about $300. "Yes, but do u make more or less than $300?" I make about $300, maybe $298 one month, $303 the next month, sorry I don't have receipts.... "If u get GR will you go to a shelter?" No, they just take it. "But where do you sleep?" The sidewalk. "If you get GR you won't go to a shelter?" No, I'll sleep on the sidewalk. "Why did you come here today?" To get EBT and GR, what do you mean? "Yes, but why today? Why now?" Why not today? It's the first of the month, I didn't wanna come at the end of the month and get some little pro-rated amount that does nothing for me. "It's always a pro-rated amount, you get the same no matter what." Unless it changed recently I would've got way less if I came here yesterday. "No, it's always the same, so why did you come here today?" Are you serious right now? Why do you ask every question 4 times? "It's my job." No, it isn't. There's no need to ask everything 4 times. "Don't be rude and insult me. If you have a problem with how I ask questions you can leave and come back another time." I'll just stick to panhandling, you're worthless. That's the service our tax dollars pay for. I've been homeless for 7 years and can't even get EBT.

The Security was pretty helpful because I had a lot of stuff that Wasn’t allowed inside, but instead of telling me flat out NO like the DPSS office in Pasadena would, he offered to watch it for me until I got done with my business. And that made a big difference. And the man at the desk was very helpful too. Overall it was good vibes. I was done in 20 minutes too!

Terrible as expected. DPSS in general is a train wreck. Waited 2 hours on the phone, then call gets disconnected. Worker asked for my number in case we got disconnected and she never called back. Deserves -5 stars for the atrocious quality of service.

The reason why they didn't give you your cash is because you didn't fill out the sar7 six month check-up form just go to GR office and fill it out then they'll fix it couple days. But if you wait for too long then you'll have to reaply all over. Hope this helps William Johns I'm heading back to the office for the third time this week if there open
There's one with Mother's with Children on Saticoy and Van Nuys I do believe so and the one on GlennOaks is General Relief and Cal fresh but I'm pretty sure help anyone with kids as well.🙏
they open at 8 I suggest you get there early normally would be busy so get there early and I'm about your mother I'm pretty sure they could take care of her medical there unless she already has her own doctor but I suggest you go there first. Godspeed

If you want quick action go to the office (early if possible) with your case number and inform them of your situation. That way it'll be handled for sure before you leave and you won't have to play phone tag with the case worker. It could be that you didn't fill out your quarterly report or need to show proof of something so they stopped benefits until you do.In the meantime call the customer service number on your Ebt card and navigate through the menus, in there somewhere tells you the amount of future benefits you would receive.
