I contacted the office as suggested below and nobody cares. There have been various problems. Earlier this year I had to call the cops due to the management company performing construction work on a national holiday (and refusing to stop after I asked them). Most recently they put up a large construction structure on my bedroom window with no prior notice (see pics). No respect to residents privacy or right to have peaceful and quite home. They just apologize and never provide any real solutions to address the problems. Don't believe to their nice responses to reviews, I call, email, post reviews and it feels like they just don't care... I'll update this review as we move forward for better or worse...

i absolutely love my apartment & can definitely see myself living in the unit long term depending on how my experience continues to go. everyone in the front office is so friendly and helpful, which I really appreciate! For the sake of leaving an honest review, I have had multiple unpleasant encounters with the maintenance team. They on one incident violated my privacy and security of my unit after me being very clear with my boundaries m(I will also note that I was not at all met with any sort of compensation for the blatant violation of my privacy). Each time I've met with a maintenance member, they were rude. I have had a broken air conditioning since I moved in in mid October, it is yet to be fixed and I have called the front desk 10+ times trying to arrange getting it fixed, and it is still broken, resulting me being extremely uncomfortable in my unit. Additionally, it is really disappointing that Emergency Maintenance does not assist with lock outs outside of office hours.

I wanted to be excited about going through living at Santa Monica due to their wonderful properties but time and time again they have refused to take any action to keep the residents safe from the homeless population in the area. There have been multiple break ins at the portofino apartment complex garage and numerous homeless people sleeping in the garage yet the refuse to hire more security (1 guard for over 7 complexes) or install security cameras. I will not be staying past my lease.

If you work from home and depend on a reliable internet connection, I would recommend you live elsewhere. Internet in our unit hasn’t worked since day 1. Months later and we still haven’t been able to get it fixed because we were told it’s “not Living at Santa Monica’s responsibility.” Brought a technician down to look at the issue and he just laughed. Entire system is just a mess of tanged (and exposed) wires in the “Bike Room.”
