I spent the better part of 4-hours walking around the historic area. Deadwood is known as the place where Jack McCall shot Wild Bill Hickok while he was playing poker in a saloon. I began my visit at the Welcome Center. You can park for free here and the historic area is just an easy walk away. Be sure to talk to the employees at the Welcome Center as they can give you great insight into just about every aspect of the Historic Town. Be sure to pick up a map, it will make life a lot easier. Once in historic town you will find several restaurants, casinos, shops, each with its own old west them. The one thing that added to my enjoyment was that all the casinos and restaurants were smoke free and really catered to tourists. Now most of the town burned to the ground a few years ago after Wild Bill was shot, so you must understand that none of the building were the ones here in 1876. None the less, the historic part of Deadwood has capitalized on is old west notoriety. I stopped at the original site of the #10 Saloon, which was where Wild Bill was shot while holding the Dead Man’s Hand of aces and eights. I was able to just walk in and watch the reenactment of Jack McCall shooting Wild Bill. It was definitely entertaining and worth seeing. After the reenactment, I had lunch here. Everybody was associated with the saloon was great and the food was really good. I even got to meet Wild Bill who stopped by to visit while I was eating. I enjoyed my visit to the #10 Saloon and to the Historic Town of Deadwood.

My wife and I went her for dinner on a Sunday night. The service was decent, we enjoyed our waitress. We enjoyed our drinks, would recommend the Watermelon Moscow mules. However the food itself was mediocre at best. They were out of a large number of things. When we received our steak it was thin, dry and covered in sauce to hide the fact. We ordered a $9 loaded baked potato to get a baked potato with just cheese. The cook told our waitress that the bacon was under the cheese but later told us they were out of bacon. I would say we would give this place another try but we weren't happy with the quality for the expensive cost. We walked out paying nearly $100 on a meal we could have cooked better ourselves. 2 stars - wouldn't recommend if you're hungry for good food.

This bar rocks. They have a live show at 5pm during the week. Total surprised. MUST SEE 👀 the actor that does his 1 man show is AMAZING being an actor myself I thought he was the real deal. Deadwood blew my mind. A must see town. Stay a night for the full effect.

Parking is not near the building. There is a parking garage or public parking lots.
Its not the original saloon 10. There was a great fire years passed and with all the mudslides Deadwood has had since the 1800's it was honestly like buried under soil. The area with the saw dust is the exact replica of the saloon 10 that they got from the pictures collected. Everything was an addition. If you went there in the summer they put on a little llay that explains it all. I used to work there
