Cracker Barrel used to be one of those must go to places.Today, not so much. We went here a couple of weeks ago and due to staffing there was a really long wait. So, today we tried again. They weren't very busy. Yay. We got seated. Our waitress, Maddie, came over. She was not friendly and seemed irritated to help. Alright, maybe she's stressed or having a rough morning. Who knows.. I tried to ask a question you would have thought I pulled some teeth. Yikes. The food arrived. Presentation was nice. The taste. Horrid. The hash brown casserole tasted like the day before's heat up in the microwave. Once you got through the hard layer it was so salty you couldn't eat it. I asked for toasted bread and got toasted soggy bread. Not sure how that happened. The blueberry pancakes looked amazing until we pulled a piece of something red out. It looked like plastic or a red fruity pebble. I guess I just expect more from a Cracker Barrel.

It all starts with customer service...and the Service wasn't the best. First time in & waited to be seated for a good long while. A young gal walked by numerous times and didn't bother saying a word. However the lady up front was awesome, communicated & did her part to give us her attention. After being seated was almost 20 min. Food was good! Only downfall was my husband had the breakfast boy or something like that name and the ham was all gristle, and no drink refills. Until when ready to leave were offered a refill. But only received one cup my son asked for when the gentleman I thought said he will give us all refills (same drink). Food: Both kiddos liked their mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese & the tenders. I had the fried chicken and enjoyed that...

What a great restaurant to eat at, you say! BUT, have you noticed the biggest attraction when you aren't hungry is the great shopping!! I popped in the other day and to my surprise, I left with tons of Christmas and a birthday gift purchased. Oh, and of course snacks for evening's TV watching. Go, check out this great restaurant/shopping experience.

Chaotic Serenity

Wow! Seriously! All this for around $15.. Was so good! Fried chicken.. You get 4 hand breaded made to order pieces of chicken.. Crispy, flavorful, juicy.. So good! I got the green beans and the homemade mashed potatoes with it .. Yes, I said real homemade mashed potatoes folks! Rarest thing in Idaho! And I paid extra got an additional side of the dumplings 😋 So good I cannot wait to get chicken and dumplings this winter to cozy up with.. Service was amazing.. Calling in my order was easy.. Every step was so easy! And without the extra side this would run about the same as grabbing a dinner at fast food! Highly recommend!
