Applied for Real ID with no appointment. Brought a PG&E bill, car insurance bill, and birth certificate. Filled out application, did thumbprint, did eye test, took photo, paid $39. In and out in 35 minutes. Relatively quick and painless.

I highly recommend making an appointment online even if it's the same day that you intend to go because sometimes you can find an appointment and avoid having to wait in line and we were in and out of there in 15 minutes getting my son's first state ID as he turned 18 and needed an ID for job hunting!

Went in to get my real ID. My appointment was at 100 and I was out by 105, that included all steps.. Photo and fingerprint included. Soooooo fast and efficient.

What a freaking delight it was going to this DMV compared to any other one in this state. Seriously this DMV is a peach. A peach scone of a DMV. Tip of the hat to all the employees that work there who make it run so efficiently, I was in and out in less than 15 slapping minutes. 10/10. 5 golden stars.

Yes
Yes
It is not bad, employees here are totally different than other DMVs, I would give it a try here. I will try to get an appointment when the traffic is less, between 10 to 12 noon or 2 to 4 pm.
Hello. You have 2 options. One option is to come into a DMV and do your renewal now or wait until you get back
Yes, but you would need to make an appointment in advance at this location.
No. No appointment needed to take written test. Yes for a behind the wheel test.
You don't need an appointment. But you should look up what you need for a real ID as some requirements have changed.
Make an appointment is easiest. There will still be a line for that but not as much as if you just show up. I'm assuming you bring the trailer. Go through DMV.CA.Gov
You wait in line to go in. Licensing and I'd services are taken care of once you get inside.
No appointment nessasary
e
You should be able to do it basically on a walk-in basis. You'll go there and they will give you a number and you wait outside until they call your number
No,but it helps. Wait time is around an hour to an hour and half on average. Longer if you have to test.
Documents needed for a Real ID, did they change?
Call ahead and see what's available but remember to bring the correct documents.
Just Google California dmv drivers license test, go to the dmv website and there are about 5 practice tests to prepare you for it.
Yes, takes forever otherwise. Are you a AAA member? Best way these days to do any DmV transactions
Open to everyone. Might have to wait for a non appointment. I was not there any longer than an hour for my registration renewal. Wear a mask & they aren't letting more than 10 people into the building. I usually go as soon as they open.
There ARE taking walk-ins. Went there on Tuesday late afternoon, walked right in. Check online for wait times...
Make another appointment when the open up for appointments.
No it says they are online but I drove to Petaluma for nothing last week.. I was able to get my license renewal online though if that helps
Don't know. Call them.
You can check the wait times online. That is your best option
Bring both
Yes
Im pretty sure you can go to any DMV in California to do your business.
DMV has opened at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays for over 15 years for mandatory State meetings for employees. The Petaluma office opens at 7 a.m. Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday. The 9 a.m. open is posted on the website
Yes I duo received a new one
Yes
If you want to spend half your day waiting in line you dont have to have an appointment. But i would make an appointment it will get you through a little faster.
Online
Yes
Yes, you need a license to register a car and renew it
12 to 1
Ask for a duplicate registration and title. On the trailer, see if you can find any type of identa-plate with any numbers on it that you can give to the DMV. Good Luck!
The way it works you go and apply for the licence and go to all the process and then you do the test. If you pass it you get the driving trst appointment .
I've been around 4:30 pm and I've been lucky that there are few people (no appointment)
By calling them, setting one up online via their website, or going in to make an appointment. Usually a person in the front desk will help you with it.
go in without an appointment it will take longer but they will take you. I recommend right when they open
Yo can get the test any time you are confortable to do it.
Social security # ,proof of residence ,green card or passport.
Yes, because if they have to fix it, the person who is in the information window, will give you a number to see another employee to fix it for you.
Take ur passport with you
They are open most days and closed on federal holidays. Usually from 8am-5pm
How old are you? If you are under 18.. yes your parents have to be eith you.
Petaluma dmv is closed today. Santa rosa is open and you can take a written test today only
Yes you csn make an appointment to get the new drivers license\ ID but make sure you have the reauured documents even if your are a us citizen.....that information is on the calif dmv website as all the other answers to many questions ...Especially if you want the right answers
Go to d.m.v
Yes.
No you don't need an appointment to take the written test. I did it. Appts do reduce time wait slightly.
How can imake an appointment
My license is expired. I am 80 ages, how can I get a valid license. I can not drive now.
Yes. If you are under 18 you WILL need to fill out form DL44 with parents signatures again.
Give yourself plentyof time. Also make SURE you have your permit CURRENT registration and insurance on you when you come into the office. If under 18 make SURE you have your Behind the Wheel Completion Certificate if under 18 into the office with you. If you are almost 18, you took 1 drive with an instructor and had held permit for 6 months you ARE NOT able to take drive test until you complete course or ate 18 yrs old. Go to Window 1 line to check in DO NOT wait in other lines or put vehicle under over hang until instructed to.
