Breakfast food is top notch! Atmosphere is awesome too! Cookies are definitely average. Maybe change the company name to just “The Classic Cafe”?? Overall, I love this place and I will definitely be back!

Adorable! It's a fresh take on the classic breakfast & lunch spot in Waldo! Freshly made bread and generous portions. Tomato soup was sinful and the carrot cake cupcake was delicious. Service was excellent and everyone makes you feel right at home.

Cute little neighborhood cafe. We went for breakfast and ordered the pancakes with a side of over easy eggs, and the crepes with over medium eggs. My eggs came out over easy, and the server quickly brought me out the correctly cooked eggs. The crepes stuffed with mushrooms and onions were absolutely fantastic. The pancakes were delicious as well. Would come back here again. All of the staff was very attentive and kind.

Upon hearing that the Classic Cookie was reopening I was ecstatic. I have traveled across the country and world and always make it a priority to try each city’s best cookie. The Classic Cookie was the greatest I had ever had. When arriving at the new Classic Cookie the atmosphere was great and the service was awesome. When first glancing at the cookies I was concerned as they appeared very different in looks to the original cookies, In this post you will find a picture from the Original Classic Cooke and one from the New Classic Cookie. When asking the servers if their recipe had changed they assured me that it had not. Upon trying the cookie everything was different, the chocolate variety and density in the cookie was far less, the texture and tenderness were completely different and overall I could not identify any flavors in this new cookie that reminded of the Original Classic Cookie I came to know and love. Perhaps if this was not billed as the original recipe I would not have been as disappointed and would have approached this new cookie with more of an open mind. My hope is that this post will nudge the owners to (i) stop billing this as the original recipe and (ii) use the original recipe so that those of us locals who enjoyed it can continue to do so. The great thing about cookies are that there is no correct or best recipe and everyone can enjoy it their way. I hope that the new owners are successful and invite anyone in the KC area give this place a try. If you ever bring back the original recipe please let me know and I’d be happy to come back!

Do need to book a reservation or is it walk-in only?

We do not take reservations. During the week there is generally little to no wait for a table. On the weekends you give your name to the person at the counter, and when your party has all arrived you will be seated when a table is ready. We hope to see you soon!
