Mountain Supply stocks solid equipment and offers reliable advice on technical gear - not only what to buy but also how to deploy it with maximum efficacy and longevity. Here are two examples. First, they guided how to pre-stretch dyneema crampon straps so that they do not loosen during climbs. Second, they cautioned against over-tightening a specific ski crampon mounting plate during installation because of the risk of blowing out aluminum threads with a steel screw. These are the type of fine details that often go overlooked even in specialty shops. They also know about the local (and extended region) snowpacks.
